I knew a guy who about 30 years ago was in a movement that also
believed paying tax was illegal and set up a business encouraging
people to follow him. Last I heard he went to court and was asked by
the prosecutor where he came up with that idea and he sheeplesly
answered he read some book on the subject and when asked again what
book he read he could not remember. I think he went to jail and paid
huge fines along with having future wages garnished for many years.

I agree. However, workers don't pay taxes. Their employers pay their taxes.
FIT witholding is a partion on the salary paid to the workers by their
employers which is remited to the IRS by their employers. It's part of gross
income. Employees have the option of altering their W2s so that no taxes are
witheld, however, many employees look upon FIT as a slush fund they'll get
most of back in a tax refund.

I watched the video, and it does not support your assertion.
IN that video the claim is made that there is no law imposing tax, but
of course section one of the internal revenue code is a law and it
imposes a tax.
A claim is made that an income tax is a direct tax subject to limits
in the constitution, but that is false. An income tax is not a direct
tax. A direct tax is a tax on property such as real estate and income
is not the kind of property which the founding fathers referred to
when they addressed direct taxes in the constitution.

I watched the video. It's lame and has statements I know for a fact
are wrong.
As just one example a man in the video says that imposition of an
income tax is illegal because the Constitution (in Article 1 section 9
if you want to read the section) bans "direct" taxes unless certain
conditions are met.
But the income tax is NOT a direct tax. So the statement in the video
shows ignorance of even basic notions about tax law.
Another example - they state that the IRS will not show them what law
creates a legal requirement to pay tax, and never has done that. But
of course the IRS does that in its legal filings every time someone
foolishly makes that claim in tax court.
The IRS has provided its views on that probably more than ten thousand
times.
(and if you want to see an example of a law imposing a tax on income
you only need look at the very first section of the Internal Revenue
Code, section 1.)
So taking the view that there is no legal requirement to pay federal
tax is intellectually weak as well as foolish, assuming your income is
reported to the government on a W-2 form, a Form 1099 etc.
The theory pitched in the google video referred to here is really a
bad theory all the way around.
There's also the moral issue - not paying tax forces others to pay
more than their fair share, when they have to make up for your
deficiency.
