Ex-Marine Says Public Version of Saddam Capture Fiction

A former U.S. Marine who participated in capturing ousted Iraqi
President Saddam Hussein said the public version of his capture was
fabricated.
Ex-Sgt. Nadim Abou Rabeh, of Lebanese descent, was quoted in the Saudi
daily al-Medina Wednesday as saying Saddam was actually captured
Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, and not the day after, as announced by the U.S.
Army.
"I was among the 20-man unit, including eight of Arab descent, who
searched for Saddam for three days in the area of Dour near Tikrit,
and we found him in a modest home in a small village and not in a hole
as announced," Abou Rabeh said.
"We captured him after fierce resistance during which a Marine of
Sudanese origin was killed," he said.
He said Saddam himself fired at them with a gun from the window of a
room on the second floor. Then they shouted at him in Arabic: "You
have to surrender. ... There is no point in resisting."
"Later on, a military production team fabricated the film of Saddam's
capture in a hole, which was in fact a deserted well," Abou Rabeh
said.
Abou Rabeh was interviewed in Lebanon.

Of course it is. If it doesn't agree with what you want to believe it MUST
be a fairy tale. I mean, the military and the Bush administration has
never lied to us or mislead us before, so why would they do so on something
like this?
--
"You have heard that it was said, "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a
tooth." But I say to you, Do not resist one who is evil. But if any one
strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also; and if any one
would sue you and take your coat, let him have your cloak as well; and if
any one forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles."

One inconsistency is this version of the story is this: going up to
the 2nd floor of the building and shooting it out is a courageous thing
to do. But, as we Americans all know, Saddam is a coward. He is the
ULTIMATE coward, in fact. Just as Bush II is the most courageous human
being who has ever lived (with the arguable exceptions of Ronald Reagan
and Jesus Christ), Saddam is the most cowardly person who has ever
lived. He hasn't so much an ounce of bravery in him.
If he was in danger, he would run and hide (even though he couldn't
hide for long, because Bush II would inevitably hunt him down and smoke
him out.)

Perhaps you would prefer the Defense Department's other fairy tale of
the "hero" Jessica Lynch? -- Mortally wounded while single handedly
engaged in a heavy firefight after her supply convoy was ambushed...
Captured by dirty smelly savage terrorists, molested, tortured...
Saved days later after a brave Iraqi doctor fed information to U.S.
commandos so that they could rescue her in a nightime raid... It's got
smelly terrorists, it's got a sorta-cute heroine, it's got commandos...
explosions... gunfire... it's... a load of crap...
In her book Jessica Lynch admitted that she was too frightened to fire
her weapon and that nobody raped or tortured her...

This was suggested not long after Saddam was *captured*.
There is a website that made the suggestion that the photos of his
capture were a deliberate psy op. A double psy op kind of thing.
The photo shows dates and bananas in the background which, for the time
of year we are talking about would not have been fruiting. But they
suggested that the fruit was deliberatly used in the background to throw
the theorists off the real secret to the story. They believed that
double psy op was to hide the fact that it was not Saddam. The idea
being that conspiracy theorists would grab onto the fact that the US
were lying about when Saddam was captured.
Maybe the double pys op was used to put them off the scent of just where
Saddam was captured?
Cant remember which website it was though.

It was also a good opportunity to make 'ole Buzzard Brain look invincible
to the war-supporting simps back home with the alleged "I am the president
of Iraq / Pres. Bush sends his greetings" exchange. Too hokey for even a
Steven Segall film.
