Fewer jobs than last month |
If you thought the media reports of 21,000 jobs created last
month was disapointing, a closer look at the Bureau of Labor
Statistics report is even worse.
The report says there are now 130,153,000 jobs, which is
2,000 _fewer_ than reported last month.
So if the economy has 2,000 fewer jobs, where did the 21,000
jobs number come from? It is the result of the BLS revising
_downward_ the number of jobs created in December and January
by a total of 23,000 jobs.
Those number are from the "Establishment" survey, which is
based on payroll data from business establishments. The
"Household" survey, based on telephone polling, was even worse.
It showed the economy lost 265,000 jobs last month. The
only reason the unemployment rate remained unchanged is
that 392,000 people are no longer counted as part of the
labor force.

The federal government is allowing 5,000,000 legal immigrants into the United
States and has done so for every year bush has been in office. Some of those
immigrant have come for some of the 21,000 jobs created last month. Thousands
of the legal immigrants will need one of those 21,000 jobs created. Now heaven
only knows how many illegal s are arriving and most of them need jobs.
The 21,000 is not enoug to give jobs to the immigrants. YOu can forge
Americans.

Nope, the economy has GAINED 776,000 new jobs since President Bush took
office.
The number of jobs in America is now at the highest number it has EVER been
in America's history.

Actually, that number peaked in June, 2003 at 146,917,000.
Since then we have lost 446,000 jobs, while the total
available labor force has increased by about 1,343,000.

The government numbers are cooked. They are allowing millions into the country
via legal immigration and also legal work visas. The legal work visa show up
in jobs created but they really are not.
Millions of American workers have been forced into early retirement even if
they did not want to retire. They received much lower benefits but they were
not given the choice. They are not in the worlk force.

Gotta disagree on this one, IB - nothing personal...
Legal work visas are not part of either the Household
Data set or the Establishment Data set. They aren't
counted as "employed" unless they are actually working
in a non-farm occupation.
Early retirements are a contributing factor, but one
which is dwarfed by the sheer numbers who have exhausted
their unemployment benefits without finding work, and
thus are not included in the Civilian Labor Force by
the BLS. The only "true" measure is the total percentage
of employed compared to the population.
Since Bush took office in 2001, the percentage of
Americans at work has decreased from 63.7% to 62.2% -
for a net employment shortfall (based on the current
population estimate of 222,357,000 16 years and older)
of 3,335,355 jobs.
This is what Bush has accomplished: He put 3.3 million
Americans out of work.
<sarcasm>
What a leader!

And, hundreds of thousands more will drop off the unemployment stats
this
next month, so it goes on and on and on, still hundreds and hundreds
of thousands of unemployed people, no longer being 'counted' and
getting benefits, and shrub pats himself on the back, I HOPE all these
people vote this fall and remember how long they were unemployed with
NO help from this ***** and his administration! In fact, one of his top
people said it was GOOD for Americans to ship our jobs overseas! Nice
one, brilliant people in this administration, guess no one is hired if
they are smarter than the 70 IQ Prez himself!
