Former national team mid-fielder Le Quoc Vuong will stay six
years in prison
for "organizing bets" and "gambling" after a court released verdicts
on a football
match fixing scandal on January 26, 2007 which involved eight offenders.
The Ho Chi Minh People's Court found Vuong, also vice-captain of the
Vietnamese U.23 team at the 2005 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines,
guilty of masterminding and executing a narrow margin victory for Vietnam
against Myanmar.
Vuong was also ordered to repay VND 410 million which he was
accused of
illegally making from the scandal.
