Ford Cutting Up to 30,000 Jobs, Shutting Down 14 Plants
DEARBORN, Mich. --
Ford Motor Co., the nation's second-largest automaker, said today that
it will cut 25,000 to 30,000 jobs and idle 14 facilities by 2012 as
part of a restructuring designed to reverse a $1.6 billion loss last
year in its North American operations.
The cuts represent 20 percent to 25 percent of Ford's North American
work force of 122,000 people.
Ford has approximately 87,000 hourly workers and 35,000 salaried
workers in the region.

Ford, like GM, blames their problems all on their American workers.
Their aging American workers, because they do not hire young people
anymore. So these factories were going to close because the workers are
retiring.
Of course, if they did not keep pushing fuel-thirsty war-causes
monstrosities at us, maybe they would have better sales. It is not as
though they do not know how to make good cars. Ford makes the Opel,
http://www.germancarfans.com/manufacturers/opel/
which has models like the Astra getting 6.7 liters per 100 km and will
have a diesel, the Opel Astra 1.3 CDTI, in 2006 that gets 4.8l/100km,
while an Explorer gets 19l/100km.

Ford is like all Dearborn morons.
They blame ALL their problems on Olde Man Henry-The-First.
Which is still why Walt Disney & Sons are the only
people who really buy their products.
Since Mickey Mouse had an IQ 10 times higher than Henry Fords,
and was a close personnal friend of Thomas Edison.
And Daffy Duck knew 1000 times more about Oil Futures,
shipping, banking, and economics than The Rockerfeller Dynasty.
