Object: Foreign Aid For The Rich, Republican Style. And The Mexican BailOut.
President Bush is proposing to send hundreds of billions of our tax
dollars into the Iraqi sinkhole, under the guise of rebuilding Iraq and
promoting democracy there. In reality, the vast majority of that money
will NOT go to the Iraqis, but will instead be wasted on selfish
sweetheart deals that will only benefit a few big corporations, those
who frequently contribute to Republican campaigns. That is all that our
hundreds of billions of dollars are going to do.

Instead of wasting what will easily be trillions of dollars on this scam
of the century, to supposedly improve the economy of a country that is
already rich in oil, we should just save our money and do what Clinton
did when he bailed out Mexico. It makes no sense to throw money out of
our country and build/modernize electric lines in Iraq when our own
electric grids have been described as "resembling the 3rd World" after
having faced massive power outages of our own in the last couple of
years.

There's no reason why we should GIVE the oil rich country of Iraq
massive amounts of our money, when we could just LEND it to them and
then charge interest on the money.

It makes no sense to build schools in Iraq when our own schools are
being neglected. It makes no sense to improve health care in Iraq when
upwards of over 40 million American have no health insurance. And so
on, make your own list. It also makes no sense to establish a democracy
in Iraq, when our own democracy is under constant threat from John
Ashcroft and his right winged ilk.

Here's what DOES make sense. When Clinton was President, in 1995, he
assembled together a $50 billion international rescue package to bail
out Mexico's economy. Mexico pledged its oil revenues as collateral to
guarantee repayment. America's tab was $20 billion, which the Mexicans
gladly repaid in full, 3 years ahead of schedule, in 1997, and they also
paid us an additional $580 million in interest. Both countries'
economies benefitted enormously from that deal, and trade increased too,
resulting in more jobs being created, in both countries.

This is the kind of deal that the Iraqi people need. Before we invaded
them, most Iraqis were gainfully employed, but now, Iraq's unemployment
rate is 70%. Almost 3/4th of Iraqis don't work. No wonder they are so
rudely trying to expel us from their country. Bush is doing to their
economy, exactly what he is doing to our economy here too, wrecking it
with a sledgehammer.

Every Political Science instructor will tell you this, that democracies
flourish thru out the world whenever economies improve. At the same
time, terrorism tends to increase whenever economies are on the decline.

President Bush's policies are doing the 2 worst things possible to our
interests, his policies are destroying economies thru out the world, and
they are at the same time increasing the incidents of terrorism against
our interests world-wide.

Think about it.
