Former Cheney aide faces prison in CIA leak scandal
The former top aide to Vice President ***** Cheney will find out on
Tuesday how long he might spend in jail for lying and obstructing a
probe related to the Bush administration's handling of the Iraq war.
Though Lewis "Scooter" Libby faces a maximum of 25 years in prison,
legal observers say he might never spend a night behind bars, thanks
to a lengthy appeals process and a possible pardon from President
George W. Bush.
The prosecutor in the case, Patrick Fitzgerald, has asked U.S.
District Judge Reggie Walton to impose a sentence of two and a half to
three years; the federal probation office has recommended less than
two years.

Wow, after all the hype and braying from the liberals about frog-marching
Rove and outing CIA agents, they end up with this: no CIA agent outed, and
just someone who tripped up on his memory during testimony. It would be
laughable if it weren't so sad.

I don't care what a news reporter says at Newsweek. The prosecutor indicted
no one for outing Plame, even though Armitage admitted doing it. There
would have been no problem in the first place if Wilson hadn't lied in his
original op-ed piece accusing Bush.

Correct. A key part of the law states that the perp has to know that the

been evidence that Cheney knew, but Libby lied, so we will never know.

Libby was convicted of lying about his role in the outing of a covert
CIA agent.
If Libby hadn't of lied, he'd be a free man and Fitzgerald would have
gotten to the bottom of the treasonous act.

It would be
laughable if it weren't so sad

So perjury is laughable to you?
It's not to Libby.
But then you're a traitorous ***** just like Libby.

I can tell you how long he will get right this second Harry!
If he even is unlucky enough to be put in to prison while he is going
thru the motions of the Appeal process he will get out of jail on
November 5th 2008 (when Darth Cheney orders AWOL Georgie pardon him)!
