Four things Lyndon Johnson did which started America down a path of
self-destruction
1) WAR ON POVERTY COMPONENT OF THE GREAT SOCIETY PROGRAM
Johnson's "Great Society" program had a component called the "War On
Poverty" which consisted of social welfare programs for the poor. This
component created generations of unmotivated welfare recipients,
widespread fraud and abuse of available entitlements, and an ever
growing and inefficient government bureaucracy. When government
provides unearned social services benefits with no limit on how long
one can collect such services, it naturally kills the innate human will
to provide for oneself, have initiative, maintain self-respect and
personal pride. Rampant crime, drug use, single motherhood, and broken
families were too often the end result of government funded social
freebies. Most affected were American Blacks and Latinos. If Lyndon
Johnson were alive today, he could visit any American "skid row" or
inner city to witness the final result of his "War on Poverty".
2) ACCELERATED VIETNAM WAR WHICH GAVE BIRTH TO HIPPIES AND THEIR
LIBERAL AGENDA
Johnson's Vietnam War created the hippies. By rapidly escalating U.S.
military involvement in Vietnam, a powerful anti-war movement developed
in the USA (hippies). The hippies mainstreamed such liberal ideas as:
feminism, multiculturalism, drug experimentation, political
correctness, sexual revolution/free love (promiscuity), and gay rights.
Furthermore, hippies challenged the Judeo/Christian societal bedrock
idea of a nuclear family by approving of and eventually promoting:
single motherhood, childbirth out of wedlock, gender role reversal,
children's "rights" within the family, etc.
Prior to the hippies such liberal ideas were, for all intent and
purpose, confined to far left academics. Again, the hippies made such
ideas mainstream. Hippies moved American culture from innocence to
decadence. Without the Vietnam War to give hippies their political
cause, they would have never formed to the degree to which they did.
3) SIGNED THE VOTING RIGHTS ACT (1965)
First, it should be noted that this bill does have some components with
merit. However, the bill's disastrous component is it allowed
illiterate people to vote. Generally, it is safe to say that an
illiterate voter is an uniformed voter. Prior to 1965, one had to pass
a literacy test in order to register to vote. If a person can't pass a
literacy test then it can be reasonably assumed that he/she is likely
to be politically uninformed. Johnson's Voting Rights Act resulted in
millions of illiterate/uniformed voters in the USA. Fertile ground for
manipulative campaigning politicians.
4) SIGNED THE IMMIGRATION AND NATIONALITY SERVICES ACT (INS Act,
1965)
Prior to 1965, the United States was largely composed of Protestant
whites of European decent. When considering an immigration policy, the
USA should have taken this fact into primary consideration. However,
this bill transformed the USA into a multiethnic country by allowing,
for the first time in it's history, massive immigration from
non-European countries. What's wrong with a multiethnic country?
History has repeatedly shown that multiethnic and especially
multicultural countries are riddled with social problems, face
additional ethnically based competing agendas, and may become
Balkanized which can ultimately result in civil war. A country stands
the best chance of long term success when it is mostly uniform in
language, culture, ethnicity, religion, and social customs/practices.
Problems resulting from the implementation of this bill could have been
minimized had newly arrived non-European immigrants been forced to
fully assimilate into American society. Still though, even under ideal
conditions regarding assimilation of newly arrived non-European
immigrants, conflict is inevitable between immigrants and natives since
mankind is inherently biased and prejudiced towards people who have
different ethnicities and religions. Liberals would argue that such
conflict is caused by the lack of tolerance natives have towards newly
arrived non-European immigrants, hence in the liberal mindset, the
natives are the problem. To counter this claim, a dose of historical
reality is in order. Since the beginning of civilization, mankind
generally prefers to associate, live with, marry, socialize, etc. with
those whom are similar to him. Whites prefer to marry whites, Asians
prefer to marry Asians, Jews prefer to marry Jews, etc. Whites tend to
live with other Whites, Blacks with Blacks, Asians with Asians, etc.
Of course there are many exceptions, but as a general rule, people tend
to stick with their own kind. It is indeed true that tolerance of
others is a characteristic of advanced peoples/cultures, but full
immersion and embracement of others different from us is usually
avoided in practice. In terms of one's personal world of people and
places, we tend to like homogeneity as it is more familiar and thus
comfortable. Globally, politicians who face this reality and work
within its boundaries are being realistic and leading their society
towards smart immigration policy. Life is challenging enough, and a
society certainly doesn't need the additional challenges imposed on it
by a multiethnic and multicultural society.
Following the INS bill's enactment, not only did the United States NOT
force immigrants to assimilate, it gradually began a policy of ever
increasing cultural and language accommodation of newly arrived
immigrants ie. a policy of non-assimilation. The hippie/liberal agenda
of ultimate tolerance/accommodation of all peoples, languages, and
cultures made it's way into the mainstream of politics and public
policy on federal, state, county, and municipal levels from California
to Maine.
As a result of cultural/language accommodation, American society has
become more fractured, less homogeneous. Further, because of the mass
influx of non-White immigrants along with liberal propagation of
political correctness, American society has become hypersensitive to
the idea of race. A cloud of fear permeates the air whenever race is
discussed in public, social settings, etc. Political correctness
ensued in the interest of not offending anyone. The age-old American
melting pot practice (ie. assimilation of immigrants into U.S. society)
has been abandoned in favor of tolerance, sensitivity, accommodation,
and understanding of different cultures. Today, American
multiculturalism policy accommodates an immigrant's foreign language
even to the extreme of allowing voting and driver exams to be conducted
in numerous languages.
American society has become more segregated... a direct result of the
U.S. now being composed of huge numbers of different ethnic groups who
are encouraged NOT to assimilate but rather, preserve their foreign
culture wholly within the United States. Discrimination is now
conveniently used as an excuse (and basis for a lawsuit) in the case
where a non-White person isn't hired for a particular job, doesn't get
a promotion, or is rejected in any sense. More fighting amongst us
results, more divisions result.
Political correctness mandates that each U.S. ethnic group promote
their ancestry (and thus difference from others) by prefixing the
American label with: African, Mexican, Korean, Italian, Japanese,
Latino, Hispanic, etc. thus creating a nomenclature which separates
Americans into distinct groups. For example, a 4th generation U.S.
citizen of Mexican decent does not see himself as simply an American,
he sees and categorizes himself as a Mexican-American.
Completely ignoring Martin Luther King's concept of a colorblind
society, ethnic groups within the U.S. proudly segregate themselves.
For example, nearly every American college maintains a Black Student
Union, Latino Student Union, and Asian Student Union. Endless numbers
of American organizations (political, business, and social) are
prefaced with "Black", "Latino", "Asian", etc. meaning that if you do
not belong to that particular ethnic group, you are forbidden from
joining said organization. Such organizations are by definition race
based, exclusive only to one particular race/ethnicity, and therefore
racist. Any attempt to form a White Student Union at any American
college will be quickly attacked, the organizer branded a Nazi, a
racist, a Ku Klux Klan member and of course, the college will never
grant the charter. The Immigration and Nationality Services Act of
1965 ultimately resulted in an ever increasing fractured American
society of various ethnic groups each with competing and often
conflicting agendas. This is certainly not good for the long-term
health of the United States.

If you think all this stuff started with LBJ, you're just plain out of
your mind.

Hippies don't have any agenda. They're too stoned to care.

An informed electorate is a good thing. What's your excuse?
