Fred Thompson pro-Choice, voted against tougher enforcement; supported Feingold Bill... |
Fred Thompson Candidate, his short years (8) in Senate Votes:
pro-Choice, voted against tougher enforcement; supported Feingold
Bill...
1) For abortion (before 1st trimester, i.e. Pro-Choice)
2) Thompson's record on immigration is decidedly mixed.
In the Senate, Thompson voted AGAINST tougher
enforcement of immigration laws. Two votes in
particular will be of concern to immigration
activists:
3) Sen. Thompson, in committee consideration of S.1664
protected businesses from having to pay higher fines
when they are caught hiring illegal aliens
4) The big one during his 8 years in Congress is the
McCain-Feingold bill. Thompson was a huge advocate
of the bill during his time in the Senate and each
year
his support for the legislation would knock around 4%
off his ACU rating. One year, it actually knocked
around
12% off as 3 different votes on Campaign reform were
counted.
I would like to see a McCain Thompson ticket, *IF
Thompson were Pro-Life, and *IF Thompson had
not supported the Visa Overstayers (which was the
status of most of the 9/11 hijackers.)

It doesn't matter what you post, he will be president. Americans love
actors. He has the look, and he has the voice.

Yep .. the look of a guy who will say anything, do anything, to "fit-
in" with any particular group .. even duck hunters. He will even NOT
say anything or do anything to illustrate the *specifics* of his
mormonism. I'd much rather have an avowed agnostic than one who won't
publicly espouse what he believes in. But .. (sigh) .. if I had to, I
would rather have him than, say ... Hillary.
