U.S. response exasperating for some Americans

We spent the day in Cyprus tracking the latest efforts to get
Americans out of Lebanon.
The U.S. government says it has evacuated more than 100 Americans, but
their efforts are clearly lagging behind those of other countries.
The French and Italians have gotten hundreds of their citizens out.
Some of the Americans who have made it out are clearly exasperated
with the U.S. response.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that France and Italy are closer to the
Middle East physically then lets say a country accross the Antlatic
ocean with all their Military Ships and stuff bogged down with the
Illegal war in Iraq?
