Georgie won't mess with camels, but oh those sheep! |
Who could forget Our Great Leader's Great Post-9/11 Promise:
"When I take action, I'm not going to fire a $2 million missile at a
$10 empty tent and hit a camel in the butt."
Well George came damn close last week when US forces destroyed a
convoy of trucks which was heading out of Iraq into Syria.
FOX News breathlessly reported that "intelligence that prompted the
attack indicated the convoy included a number of higher-level Iraqis,"
and Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) said, "I will not be surprised at any
military action that would lead to the possibility that we have now
finally killed Saddam Hussein."
But after wiping out the convoy and killing a bunch of civilians - not
to mention Syrian border guards - it became clear that neither Saddam
Hussein nor his sons were part of the convoy, which was in fact part
of a sheep smuggling ring.
Still, George never said anything about not hitting sheep in the butt,
so I guess that's okay.

Thats been the S O P for the Bushies since before the Election for
Governor in TexASS!
Hype the Hell out of something anything no matter how big a LIE they
know it to be, and then they hope like hell that afterwards when the
story is proven to be false it will either get buried back on page
20,000 and so nobody cares and or Karl (Martin Borman) Rove will find
a way to Wag The Dog so as to explain it away!
And Guess What???It Works! But who knows for how long???
As the day is coming sooner than later when the Unemployment Rate will
hit 10% (as this country is literally eating the seed grain, which is
running out) and when the Body Bags may be coming home from Iraq a
Dozen a Day, as the true disaster of the Iraqi Quagmire hits
home...LITERALLY!

Here is my problem.
While I did not and do not think the war just
I think we will create very bad damage if we leave this undone
now that it has been started.
I don't believe George Bush has the staying power when the people
who pushed for this mess (maybe by way of media manipulation) start
squeeling for us to get out it. But we must stay and do what we
said we would do,... that is bring about the conditions for a stable
democracy in Iraq.
I think George Bush sees Iraq as yet another profit center for his
croanies. Unfortunately the solution to the problem involves a
full recognition of globalization and this means deflation at capital's
expense--when labor costs are equalized there will be little in foreign
production of goods and services not closely tied to the resources.
In the end the profit from diferential labor costs will be wrung out
and the precursors for democracy will be settled.

This idea looks good on its face, but is a very bad idea. The US can't
impose ANY kind of government on the Iraqi people - not and it be a
legitimate government. The only way we the people can help the victims of
the Iraqi war is to withdraw the Death Squads and send war reparations
(money, infrastrucutre equipment, etc.) and allow them to start rebuilding
their own country. But that can't happen while Republicans hold power in
the U.S. because a free, deomcratic Iraq is something they are working very
hard to prevent.
Having Bush's Republican Guard oversee the rebuilding of Iraq is like having
Klaus Barbie as Israel's first Prime Minister - or making Cornwallis the
first U.S. president.
Very True Bucky, as is being witnessed by the almost hourly Killings
of the Iraqi Stooges (Quislings)the Bushies have appointed to run
things in Iraq!

Bush will stay until the oil runs out. Or becomes unprofitable to pump
out of the ground.

Yes. You will now have to stay in Iraq and your utmost to give to the
Iraqis a better live...than under Saddam Hussein. This is *the main*
objective...beside actual failures in security, water, electricity
supplies.
And likely, you will not be able to do all this al lone. You will need
the help of the EU...Sadly....G.W. Bush foreign policy is not helpful
in getting this support...

Democracy in Iraq ? Clans are ruling this country and only a total
idiot in the Pentagon could come to the idea to create democracy in
this country...not as yet prepared for such a change. It will take
generations...not only years :-)

For the time being...you will have to get the Iraqis back to work..
Creating jobs will be an absolute nightmare :-)
