Getting ready to drop The Big One on the terrorists in Fallujah? |
FALLUJAH, Iraq - Marines in Fallujah began packing up gear and loading heavy
trucks Thursday, saying they had been ordered to leave the southern
industrial zone that they have held for weeks and pull away from the city.
It was not immediately known if the move represented a withdrawal of Marines
from their siege of the city or if other Marine forces were being rotated in
to replace the withdrawing 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment.
Another distinct possibility is that we are preparing to squash the Muslim
Terrorist holdouts in that city with The Big One, and we are getting our
brave soldiers out of harm's way before we drop it.

They are turning the city over to a Baathist general. It is only a matter
of time until they admit the world was a safer place with Saddam.

After that, lets see how the American public reconciles the

I wouldn't worry about that. I think it's plausible that
Bushco could do one targetting N. Korea and/or Iran's nuclear
facilities at some point.
The most likely explaination is that we are showing the old
'glass chin' that we are known for. We really don't need to
control that particular area...it's just embarrasing to hole up
on our bases without obvious control of the country at large. I
suspect that the political liability of the rising body count
has tipped the calculations and it's time to cut-n-run from the
areas which we don't need.

To do much of anything in Falluja will bring us pretty close to
the magic 1000 dead which is politically significant. Since
it goes along with a significant injury rate, it probably a
tactical problem as well considering our force strength, the
deployments that Rummy would like around the world, and the
other 'projects' the Likudnics in the Pentagon have in mind.
Of course, having that many dead Americans and god knows how
many innocent Iraqis is also a moral problem for some, but I
wouldn't expect most chicken-hawk right wingers to understand
that aspect of things. Your post makes my point well.

A person engaged in military action defending his homeland from armed
invaders, shooting at opposing soldiers, is not called a "terrorist."
The proper word is "patriot."
Or "resister" if you don't want to use "patriot."
That you must resort to such obvious distortions indicates you
consider your case weak.

tens of thousands of muslims so furious at us that they will all work
