The press secretary for Republican presidential candidate Rudy
Giuliani at the recent New Hampshire Republican Presidential Debate
had reporter Matt Lepacek arrested for asking him a tough question
during a news conference. The press secretary called over New
Hampshire State Police and told them to arrest Lepacek, although
Lepacek held valid press credentials from CNN. Lepacek was physically
assaulted and his camera damaged by the police, and he remains
imprisoned. Since when is it illegal to ask a tough question of a
political campaign organization at a press conference? I don't think
we want someone as president whose campaign doesn't believe in the
"inalienable" rights of our Constitution of freedom of speech and
freedom of the press. Rudy Giuliani is the son of Harold Giuliani, who
used a baseball bat as an "enforcer" for a relative's loan sharking
business and spent three years in prison. See
