1. Israel has some form of an IT industry there, and unlike the bulk of
the mideast, is able to derive and function as an economy not dependent
on oil revenues.
2. Israel has some form of a functioning democracy over there.
I won't get into pro-Zionism that impacts foreign policy. But, those
two do stand out as two major ones.
