Hello,
Actually, it's clear that you don't get it, so whatever you've got that
you think is "it," isn't "it."
I'll try to spell it out for you, clearly:
Many scientists agree that our human activities are changing the
climate in ways that could be devastating to us.
We can bet that those scientists are wrong, and do nothing. If we lose
that bet, we get devastation. If we win, we get the status quo
continued.
We can bet that those scientists are right, and act to change our ways.
If we win that bet, we avoid devastation. If we lose that bet, we
still avoid devastation, but we get a cleaner planet, too.
People who understand the situation choose the second bet, because we
win as a species either way.
People who are dupes, or tightwad industrialists, would choose the
first bet, because they could leave others holding the bag.

Hello,
If you believe them enough to risk the lives of your children and

I work with scientists on a daily basis. I have never met one that thought
global warming was fake. I know some conservative scientists and they agree
with global warming theory.
So why not name the scientists you're talking about? Oh, they don't have
names, or addresses or CV's. The little man that wasn't there....

Global warming is a slow process. One effect, just one, is that melting
polar ice will change the long term pattern of deep ocean currents (The Gulf
Stream keeps Europe relatively warm) and cause Europe to be much COLDER than
today. Most of Europe is at a higher latitude than New York City.

Global warming is making weather patterns more reflective of your mental
processes: unbalanced and chaotic.
Q: When have weather patterns ever been 'balanced' and 'calm'?
A: Never.
The Earth's weather system is/has always been/will always be dynamic.
It is changing constantly, both in the micro and macro scale. Why is
it Global Warming Alarmist get to pick and choose a time when weather
was 'ideal' and any deviation from that point is disastrous and caused
by Global Warming. ("Okay, Billings Montana was 72 degrees on March
15th of 1967. ANY deviation from this, no matter if it's hotter or
colder or what time of year it is, is caused by GLOBAL WARMING!!!
DANGER!!! DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!!")
I say we got back to the original climate....Toxic High Levels of CO2
and less than 8% oxygen (FYI, current levels are 20.8% and anything
below 19.5% is considered hazardous to humans). BUT, that was the way
it WAS and we should strive to get it there again.

Hello,
Thomas' post was accurate, but lacked citations of your idiocy.
As is usual with your ilk, you exaggerate the opposing sides' argument
in a deceitful way.
For example, I've not seen any global warming believer state an ideal
time and temperature.
They generally say something like the world's average temperature is
rising at an alarming rate, at least partly due to human action, which
could have dire consequences. But nobody says we've got to return to
the temperature of Montana in 1967 or whatever false argument you've
imagined.
The reason your side has to argue that way is because you can't win
when you argue the real issues, so you have to invent an argument that
you can defeat, and try to shove that in the mouths of your opponents.

Thomas' post was accurate, but lacked citations of your idiocy.
As is usual with your ilk, you exaggerate the opposing sides' argument
in a deceitful way.
For example, I've not seen any global warming believer state an ideal
time and temperature.
The part about the weather on a particular date in Montana was sarcasm.
A trip into the absurd to illustrate just how Global Warming Alarmist
cherry pick their information. They spout information that supports
their claim, and ignore any that does not (and there is plenty that
does not support their theory).
I was attempting (obviously failing at it as it went completely over
your head) to point out the fact that there IS no 'ideal'
temperature that the Earth is 'supposed' to be. There is no ideal
coverage area for the ice caps. It is constantly changing. At one
point the Earth had NO ice caps, and it will probably not have them
again. At one point the ice caps extended into Kentucky, and they
probably will again. The Sahara Desert used to be a lush rainforest.
Are you blaming humans for that loss, too?
They generally say something like the world's average temperature is
rising at an alarming rate, at least partly due to human action, which
could have dire consequences. But nobody says we've got to return to
the temperature of Montana in 1967 or whatever false argument you've
imagined.
The reason your side has to argue that way is because you can't win
when you argue the real issues, so you have to invent an argument that
you can defeat, and try to shove that in the mouths of your opponents.
Since when has the Global Warming Alarmists argues 'real issues'. I
was pointing out the fact that the environment is dynamic, not static.
It never has been static and never will be. They claim the world's
average temperature is rising at an 'alarming rate', but to do that
they have to exaggerate the actual rate of rise. They also have to
ignore the fact that the average temperature is cyclic, rising and
falling between ice ages, and also ignore the fact that man's impact on
the macro scale is insignificant when compared to the output of one
volcano or the effect the cyclic nature of the output of Sol has. (on
the micro scale, man does have some impact [see 'heat island
effect'] but on the macro, it's insignificant at best). If we had
so much effect on the environment, don't you think we'd be successfull
making it rain in drought areas.
Is the average mean temperature rising? Yes, I've never argued that.
But the rates they put forth are, for the most part, cherry picked from
very specific sites and when taken as a whole along with areas where
temps are static or average less, turn out to be less then they blather
about.
Also, globally, the average temperature has been rising since the
middle of the last ice age approximately 18,000 years ago. So, man and
it's industry of the last 150 years is responsible for the continuing
rise of temperature for the last 18 centuries?
Could rising temperatures have dire consequences? Yes, of course, for
humans. I'm sure the Earth will survive. The Earth really doesn't
give a ***** if we make it or not. My personal belief is that everyone
running around in electric powered rollerskates is not going to make
one wit of difference.
Of course, as this is not presented to you in your weekly
'Enviro-Weenie Talking Points' newsletter you will, of course, blather
on about how you are 'enlightened' and are so much smarter than anyone
else.
And don't start this ***** about "ALL scientist have found....",
because not ALL scientist, not even a vast majority, agree with the
global warming alarmist. (Hell, even four out of five Dentist think
the fifth one is an *****. So if THEY can't agree....).
