CONCORD, N.H. --A group of House Republican lawmakers
plans to present a package of immigration reform bills this session
that, among other things, would amend a state law that two police
chiefs tried to use to charge illegal immigrants with trespassing.
The law says a person can be charged with trespassing "if knowing
that he is not licensed or privileged to do so, he enters or remains in
any place." The legislators propose adding "within the borders of this state."
