Republicans are set to lose both houses of congress and that would
mean impeachment and conviction for bush and then criminal indictment
for him and his cronies. Not that democrats want to impeach bush -
they are just as corrupt as ever. But the public would demand they
impeach and dems would no longer be able to say "we're powerless - the
GOP controls congress."
So the repubs will stage another attack in the hopes of mustering
support and this one will make 9-11 look like a mud-fight.

I thought of that too. The public is perhaps wising up and may
respond to another terror attack by accusing the govt of doing it just
like 9-11. The the repubs would have no choice but to cancel the
elections. Either way the country is in for a rough next few months.
