may be legitimate.

No, people like you are not included, nor are babies. The comparison is done
with people in their age range.

Did you happen to look at the column titled "college experience"?
The difference between those with high school diplomas in the miltary vs.
civilian populations (unsurprising since the military requires either a HS
diploma or GED as a prerequisite for enlistment) is only 10.6%. The
difference between those with "college experience" in the military vs.
civilian populations is (taking the average military number of all of the
services) is 38.7%.
So while it's true to say that 100% of American miltary have high school
diplomas or equivalent (duh), it is untrue to claim that the "average
education level of the troops is above that of the general pulblic", as the
general public is 38.7% more likely to have attended a college or university
beyond high school.
Thanks for the cite.

FYI ...the lack of college is due to the fact that most of the
enlisted men/women enter the service just after high school... or
after just one year of college... most officers have completed four
years of college before entering...

As a matter of fact, my education is far greater than that of the general
public and includes instruction in reading. Consequently, I've noticed a
number of articles reporting the actions of recruiters who have recruited
persons who were educationally substandard. That's bad for the military but
it's good for you. Now you have an employment opportunity.
By the way, are you posting from Iraq or are you just another yellow

Yes, 'anymore'. He complimented the troops repeatedly today in fact.

Desperate attempt to get his ***** out of a crack.

LOL. "Desperation" is taking an out of context comment, lying about it,
and using it to exploit the troops for political gain.

It's obvious you have no idea what context means. Are you being stupid on
purpose or is it natural?

Kerry should resign the senate for besmirching the troops.

He didn't do that. He's been complimenting them for decades, in fact.

Not anymore.

Yes, 'anymore'. He complimented the troops repeatedly today in fact.

ROTFLMAO Yeah, after he's caught besmirching them and getting caught at it.

He should resign.

Why?

He's not worthy to be a senator.

Why not?

George W. Bush has made the terrorists stronger, their influence wider,

violated his Oath of Office by turning his back on the United States
Constitution; thereby surrendering to the terrorists by undermining American
freedoms, values, and the very foundations of our system of government.
Supporting Bush is treason.

The cameras were from CBS and CNN, so he figured he was safe. But then talk
radio got wind of it.

Right - because they don't actually *broadcast* what they tape, right?

Great Caesar's ghost!!! A lefty is calling me immoral for having views
other than his! I've _never_ seen a thing like that before!

No, I call you immoral for supporting an administration that has turned it's
back on the United States Constitution and sold out the American people.
Feel free to have views differing from my own. When you translate your
views into political power, then expect resistance. Don't like it? Then
you're in the wrong country.

back on the United States Constitution and sold out the American people.

Proof, or at least argument, normally follows accusations such as
these.

Feel free to have views differing from my own.

Thanks! I wasn't sure I could before, but now I feel a whole lot
better!

When you translate your views into political power,

By voting?

then expect resistance.

What type of "resistance?"

Don't like it? Then you're in the wrong country.

To be sure, I am in the right country, because I'd rather not exert any
power over you, or have you exert any over me, yet if I dare suggest
that you be allowed to keep more of the money you earn, and not have it
used for the public (including mine) benefit at all, God only knows
with whom you would compare me, although you would probably start with
famously leftist butchers like Stalin, Mao, etc. Of course I couldn't
point out the irony without you calling me part of some mysterious
invisible "hate machine."
