Hispanics 1st to defend & last to lay down arms in the Defense of the USofA |
Hispanics in the Defense of the USofA:
"A vivid narrative of the men of New Mexico's
200th and 515th Coast Artillery (AA) units.
Cave skillfully tells a story of hardship, bravery,
unspeakable treatment, and a never-dying belief
that their country would liberate them. THEY
WERE THE FIRST UNIT TO FIRE ON THE
ENEMY IN THE PHILIPPINES AND THE
LAST ORGANIZED UNIT TO LAY DOWN
THEIR ARMS WHEN ....
Bataan: The 200th and 515 Coast Artillery units
were from the New Mexico National Guard, which had a
heavy representation of Hispanic officers and enlisted men.
They had been selected because of their combat readiness,
and also many of the men in the unit spoke Spanish, a
principal language of the Philippines. Upon their arrival,
they became the largest single American military unit in
the Philippines. "

They are not the only ones - People of Hispanic background
have fought with great dedication and valor in other wars including
in Afghanistan and in Iraq. The vast majority of the newcomers
will make fine citizens too. Meanwhile our elected
officials MUST get control of the borders and get control
of the immigration situation and produce some kind
of workable solutions which DO NOT include using hispanics
as virtual slave labor for cheap wages, few or no benefits
in order to keep the "free trade" advocates happy.
The NEO CON men's lies must be exposed by all
and at the top of the list, ow that they have been enticed
to come here, is fair wages, benefits, health care
plans for the newcomers, as well as for everyone else already
here. WHO Pays? The GLOBAL FASCIST FREE TRADE
corporations, profiteering companies from the war,
profiteering companies from government initiatives
such as "No Child Left Behind" (sic) etc., of course and, since we are
performing
a service for Mexico and other South American countries
in offering opportunities for these people, MAYBE ITS TIME
TO START LEVYING FINES, TAXES AND OTHER CHARGES
AGAINST THOSE COUNTRIES who have treated
these people so shabbily and virtually forced them
to leave their homelands - INSTEAD of making deals
for more outsourcings and business moves.

Yes, you're right, "People of Hispanic

True, and they already are making
fine citizens.
