History will Absolve Fidel |
History will Absolve Fidel
by John Maxwell
http://blackcommentator.com/163/163_maxwell_fidel.html
....There have been mistakes made, many of them serious, but overall, if
one compares Cuba to its nearest neighbors, Haiti, the Dominican
Republic, Puerto Rico and Jamaica, it is clear that Cubans enjoy a far
better quality of life than citizens of the others. And in World Bank
terms it is poorer than all except Haiti.
For one thing, crime is almost non-existent and violent crime is
statistically insignificant. People still steal and profiteer but civil
society seems alive and well in Cuba.
The care given to the weakest and most vulnerable is extraordinary and
Cuban health care is recognized as among the very best in the world.
The same is true of education, and just as Cubans now have a doctor in
every neighborhood (1 doctor to every 100 Cubans) they are getting
university-level centers set up in every borough...
see the whole article at the link above..
-----------
Most Americans who feel that they hate Fidel Castro, don't know
anything about him. The reason they'll say that they hate him because
they've been conditioned to think that is their patriotic duty. Castro
& the Cuban people chose freedom when they decided that they would not
be a US colony or slave plantation for the insanely greedy, racist
capitalist thugs who rule the USA. The US ruling elite have hated
him/them ever since.
Tidings of comfort and joy,

And that's why they are willing to jump into flimsy rafts and float over
shark-infested waters to get to the USA right?
The Left's adoration for Fidel, cheerleading for Hugo Chavez, excuse making
for Saddam, and countinual undermining of Bush's attempts to bring some
semblance (no matter how imperfect) to Iraq, pretty much confirm what we
suspected all along - leftists hate freedom...

They rush in from all over latin America dope. It isn't
pecular to Cuba. America has jobs cleaning toilets and
shoveling ***** that pay better than anywhere else in
the America, and there mostly capitalist nations!!!!

Lame thinking, once again see politics as some game between
left and right. You really are blinkered.

Yet the rest of Latin America isn't trying to imprison people for leaving -
in fact, Mexico seems to be willing to go as far as urging people to break

Stop projecting. Bad capitaliam is communism. Corporate
welfare, crony capitalism, is all about an elite group of
people who depend upon the masses to accept their
argument that they are 'redistributing the wealth more equally'.
Let the market. Government merely get in the way when they
directly impose themselves upon the market.

Castro's 'miracle' cures the poor of blindness
by Tom Fawthrop in Havana
Published: 18 December 2005
independent.co.uk
The rich tourists whose luxury yachts once crowded the idyllic Marina
Hemingway complex on the outskirts of the Cuban capital are shocked to
find all Havana's hotel rooms fully booked until mid-2006. More than a
dozen hotels have been temporarily closed to tourists to make way for a
different kind of visitor. Most of them arrive nearly blind; but all
will be able to see perfectly before they leave.
A remarkable humanitarian programme is under way here, which aims to
restore the sight of six million people through free eye surgery.
Launched in July by the 79-year-old Cuban President, Fidel Castro, and
Venezuela's Socialist leader, President Hugo Chavez, Operation Miracle
has brought daily planeloads of the poor from across Latin America and
the Caribbean to Havana for surgery. Cuba provides the medical skills,
Venezuela the petro-dollars.
People suffering from cataracts and other eye conditions that can be
quickly remedied are candidates.
Cuba's comprehensive, free healthcare system has a ratio of one doctor
for every 170 Cubans, compared with 188 in the US and 250 in the UK.

Charity. You have to love it. Even the commies use it to
create consent for their cause. Its funny, real funny, that
that they would stoop so low as to highlight the injustice
of capitalism that leaves curable blindness uncured.
Where is the market place that is suppose to supply
this service??? If we do not watchout we will have to
giveup our freedoms to communists to get basic health
coverage. Is that really what we want?
But hey, thats the same deal the Christian charities offer,
yet unlike these murder revolutionaires, they actively
seek to keep capitalism around, where would they be without
poverty I ask myself. Its almost as if they eat into the
fabric of western society and demand govt raise taxes
to pay for them to heal and convert the poor. Seems
that Castro is not along in using poverty to elicit believers.
But Castro isn't part of the problem, he's just a very
very bad attempt at a solution.

Have any proof for your accusation, or is this the usual ranting of a
dictator-worshipping, ignorant Lefty Liberal?
Where is the market place that is suppose to supply
this service???
It's called an "eye clinic", Einstein - thousands of people go to them each
year, and by no means are all of them wealthy.
But hey, thats the same deal the Christian charities offer,
yet unlike these murder revolutionaires, they actively
seek to keep capitalism around,
Because capitalism creates the wealth that can be donated in the first
place, retard. It's hard to be charitable when you have nothing to give...

What are the stats on drug running related deaths
in the non-Cuba caribban?
Didn't the Cubans revolt because of US abuses
of them, the drug culture, the mafia, the corruption.
However would Cuba be better off being a US lackey?
