How many lives did this incompetency cost? |
Were the "war president" and Slick ***** too busy counting their profits
before the eggs were secured?
NO WMD, NO ties to international terrorism, no contingency planning for an
insurgency?! Just what were the Bush goons focused on? (Hint: It wasn't
liberating the Iraqi people. Second Hint: It start with O and ends with L.)

Insurgency Not Anticipated
Chicago Tribune
August 3, 2004
WASHINGTON - According to the General in command, the U.S. went to war in
Iraq without expectation of the violent insurgency that followed or a clear
understanding of the psychology of the Iraqi people.
"We had a hope the Iraqis would rise up and become part of the solution,"
said former Gen. Tommy Franks, who led the U.S. military's Central Command
until his retirement last August. "We just didn't know (about the
insurgency)."
Interviewed Monday in connection with the publication of his memoir,
"American Soldier," Franks also said he had expected large numbers of
foreign troops to join the U.S. in its Iraq effort. Franks attributes the
stresses on American forces in Iraq now, in part, to the failure of that to
happen.

"From the brief time that we did spend occupying Iraqi territory
after the war, I am certain that had we taken all of Iraq, we would
have been like the dinosaur in the tar pit - we would still be there,
and we, not the United Nations, would be bearing the costs of
the occupation. This is a burden I am sure the beleaguered
American taxpayer would not have been happy to take on."
- Norman Schwarzkopf, from his 1993 autobiography, "It Doesn't
Take a Hero."

Insurgency Not Anticipated
That's because it's a resistance.
As far as I have figured, the average Iraqi has no need for Starbucks
or Exxon.

Now there is a shocking piece of news, is the tribune just now figuring
this out? I know Chi-town is sometiomes called the second city, but does
the trib have to be the last to catch on that the bushies had no plan?

I heard it explained today by a General as the "dog chasing car
syndrome". The dog never has a plan for what he'll do the day he
actually catches the car. It's all about the mindless chase.
