Object: Huckabee Now or Later (even if he loses, he wins)
McCain did this whole thing 8 years ago (the primaries) and lost.
However, his delegate wins got him here, today.
The point. Huckabee has already won Iowa, won half of S.C. and will
win over 300 delegates February 5th. Even if McCain wins this
election, Huck will be back.
Indeed, consider the two options if McCain wins.
First, McCain wins the nomination but loses the election, since the
public was faced with a Democrat on the Democrat ticket and a Democrat
on the Republican ticket and chose the named Democrat by straight
party voting. This could be especially true if evangelical Christian
GOP voters feel ignored and choose to just stay home.
Second, McCain wins the nomination AND the election (unlikely). He
runs a leftist GOP administration, and conservative Republicans get
fed up with it. (think early 1900's GOP) The next term they swing
back to the conservative person they know...i.e. Huckabee.

Correct, because the election
will be decided by independentts
rather than by Republicans or Democrats.
I don't believe Huckabee has

Wrong.

You really think that the GOP can win the election without the
evangelical vote? Have you SEEN the support Huckabee is getting in
the polls? Or, are you going to say Huckabee's support extends

Rightwing Republicans are not conservatives. They are radical
reactionaries who seek to return this nation to the 19th century,
maybe even worse. They had their day, their day is gone. There'll be
no resurgence -- oh, they'll hang on to a few useless backwater places
like SC, AL, MS, E TN, and a occasional county here and there --
they'll gather 'round the TV and watch Benny Hinn and Pat Robertson
and they'll shell out to here Hickabee travel around and tell them
what should have been, but, it's over.

No, he is not "winning primaries." He won the Iowa caucus -- in which
a small portion of the state's voters participated. John Edwards, who
finished third among the Democrats in Iowa, had more votes than
Hickabee.
Hickabee placed a weak third in SC and may be third in FL, but that,
too will be weak. He may pick up a win in one or two southern states
but the South is pretty much irrelevant.
