Hypocrite GOP state senator getting grand jury attention |
Miller, who sponsored a constitutional amendment aimed at "solemnizing
the relationship of one man and one woman," was accused in the divorce
filing of cheating on his wife.
His girlfriend has been identified as a member of his legislative
staff.
At least two former members of Miller's staff testified to a grand
jury in Nashville last week about a bill the senator sponsored to
benefit a company seeking a state contract for computer recycling.
The company turned out to be a fake for an undercover FBI
investigation called Tennessee Waltz.
Five others who sponsored legislation to help the company have been
indicted on charges of taking payoffs to influence legislation and one
has pleaded guilty.
Reporting on Miller's personal life and then-pending divorce by the
Bradley News Weekly prompted him to send business owners a December
letter warning them not to advertise in his hometown newspaper.
