Immigration Unpopular With Left-Wing Radio Listeners |

I was listening to KPFA this Sunday morning. To those who don't know what it
is KPFA is the far left radio station based in Berkeley, California. And by
far left, I mean they are left of Lenin.
Peter Laufer was substitute hosting a call in radio show called Sunday
Salon. [Listen here.] For one hour Laufer was soliciting ideas from callers
to use in his debate with Peter Brimelow. The funny thing is that much to
his surprise and mine probably 8 out of 10 callers were vehemently against
illegal immigration. He was desperately trying to debate the listeners but
he ended losing control of his show. He kept trying to interrupt callers
once they began to disagree with him and used his microphone (which was much
louder than callers) to talk over callers who were making points that made
him look ignorant in comparison, which was every 30 seconds or so. I don't
think they screened callers but it probably would not have mattered anyway,
they were good old hippies and feminists, anti-war activists, and
environmentalists.
The most interesting thing to me is how many people on the left hate illegal
immigration as well. Based on politics on the left/Democratic side one might
assume that very few people on the left are anti-illegal alien but the
reality is that their institutions are more tightly controlled especially on
things involving race and ethnicity. On the right there is talk radio, the
Washington Times, Fox News, etc. On the left they are just getting it shoved
down their throats. Even the environmental movement has had its leadership
purged by multi-culturists in order to appease ethnic politics. The same can
be said for Unions, public institutions like schools and public employees,
and everyone else on the left.
For an hour the socialists at KPFA had to endure the truth from their
listeners and by the likes of it I think it is going to hurt for a while.

I have been a registered Democrat for years. As it stands now I might as
well be a registered monkey. You don't have to
a Republican to stand up for gun rights, border enforcement, and fair trade.
I can't number the times I have called Ted Kennedy's office and urged his
staff
to tell him to retire! Right now!

The telling phrase here is "just getting it shoved down their throats".
Most of the Democrats I know, including the flaming liberals, fall into
two camps, those who intend to drink the kool-aid even though they know
what's in it, and those who have no idea what's in the kool-aid though
it does seem to make people lie down and stop moving, to abuse an allegory.
Within the last week, I was one of perhaps two Republicans at a public
meeting. One elected official was given a superlative presentation by
someone who is clearly as mainstream Democrat as you can expect to see
in my district. This presentation was not at all on illegal immigration,
but it very much was on the effects, specifically housing code
violations ranging from severe overcrowding through illegal apartments
in houses and up to what appeared to be stockpiling of untagged vehicles
which may or may not be stolen or of "questionable legal status".
Despite the fact that all over this county, the idea of housing-code
violations not being speedily enforced -- much less left entirely
unaddressed -- is an idea most people can't entertain, this elected
official more or less told us that it was simply impossible to do
anything about it, and that person took two hours to tell us this. I
don't think I've ever previously heard such a stack of passing the buck
and rationalization... and we never got around to ever even mentioning
immigration, legal or otherwise. But it's no secret in the county what's
responsible and it's no secret who are the worst and most consistent
offenders.
By the end of the meeting, most of those present were practically aghast
and seemed to have their heads spinning. Some of them, clearly hardcore
Democrats with generally quite liberal views on most things, had spent
literally a thousand or more hours tracking the violations and their
lack of resolution over the last few years. All were coming from the
position of "we're really sorry but this simply cannot go on like this,
it definitely can't be allowed to get any worse". They damn well knew
the facts and none of them was at the point where they couldn't
understand cause-and-effect. But the message they got shoved down their
throats was more-or-less "we aren't going to do anything about the
cause, and we're not going to do anything about the effects, either, no
matter how much the base and core of our local constituency demands it".
They have to be wondering exactly what the hell this official was
thinking, or what could conceivably be their motivation. I'm sure that
at least one of them left the room thinking "I do believe they've gone
insane". I hope some of them finally realized that the other explanation
was that this is actual Communism moving into the endgame of a conflict
we'd all thought was over in 1992.

Mainstream Democrats are no more "Left-Wing" than Mainstream
Republicans, if there are indeed any mainstream Republicans left at

issues out of presidential politics. But restrictionist Rep. Tom
Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert (R-CO) has other
plans. Having announced in January the creation of a presidential
campaign exploratory committee, Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-
gringogirl-Pervert hopes to make immigration policy a major campaign
issue of the presidential race.
Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert, who founded the
House Immigration Reform Caucus, says that immigration "is the issue
that propels me." It's a multifaceted issue, he notes: "It touches our
educational system, our medical system, our national security, our
culture." As an example, Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-
Pervert points to the healthcare crisis, which is "exacerbated by the
fact that we are providing health care to millions of people who came
here illegally and access our health care system for free. You pay.

Other candidates see little to gain from the immigration issue. No
matter what their position on the contentious issue, the leading
candidates fear that raising the topic will lose them votes. If they
support legalization or guestworker programs, they risk the wrath of
social conservatives and many populist Democrats who adamantly oppose
amnesty for undocumented residents. And these candidates also know
that they risk alienating many voters, particularly Latinos, if they
are regarded as pandering to the immigration restrictionists who
demand border walls and stricter immigration law enforcement.
In contrast, Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert has
nothing to lose and everything to gain from a presidential bid.
Although the firebrand politician from an affluent Denver suburb
hasn't managed to make restrictionism the core principle of U.S.
immigration policy, he and other nativists in Congress have over the
past several years shifted the immigration debate toward their terms-
national security, cultural unity, and border control-at the national,
state, and local levels. Last year Newsweek correctly noted that "Tom
Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert is pulling the
immigration debate to the right-and away from Bush." Border security
and immigration law enforcement have moved from the margins to become
mainstream political fare.
While immigration restrictionism is hardly a surefire way to win
elections, anti-immigration has become one of the key issues, along
with abortion, gay rights, and gun control, that forge new unity among
social conservatives. Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-
Pervert's candidacy will force presidential hopefuls to spell out
their positions on legalization, border security, and guestworkers.
Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert, who craves
publicity, is likely to attract all the media he can handle-not only
because of his outspoken position against immigration, but also
because of his provocative views on other issues. Speaking two weeks
ago at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Tampoco-
Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert had the crowd roaring
with approval of his red-meat attacks on liberals, moderates, and even
other conservatives.
Although regarded as a one-trick pony with his rabid anti-immigrant
views, Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert is
positioning himself as the only true conservative in the current
Republican field of candidates. Boasting a 98% lifetime rating from
the American Conservative Union, Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-
gringogirl-Pervert can rightfully claim his conservative credentials.
Though immigration is his defining issue, Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-
Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert says that he doesn't mind being described
as a single-issue candidate if people understand that "my single issue
is the survival and success of the conservative movement in America."
At CPAC, he railed against what he called "hyphenated conservatives"
such as "commonsense conservatives" and "compassionate conservatives."
Belief in limited government and traditional values are not to be
apologized for, opined Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-
Pervert. "Since when is conservatism itself not enough?" he asked the
crowd.
Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert gained the favor
of the conservative conference with his Ann Coulter-like attacks on
liberalism. He warned that Miami is like a "Third World country"
because of its immigrants and Spanish language usage and said that the
United States needs a leader who supports a strong national defense
"because our enemies are psychopaths and our allies are the French."
Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert regards
immigration control in both military and cultural terms. "The only
realistic solution to the problem of illegal immigration," says
Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert on his 2008
campaign website, "is a strategy of attrition, which seeks to reduce
the flow of the illegal alien population over time by cutting off the
incentives for coming and staying in America-most importantly by
eliminating the jobs magnet."
With our current immigration policies, "We are risking the development
of a bilingual nation and a multicultural nation, which is almost an
oxymoron," Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert has
said. "It is very difficult to maintain something like that,
especially [under] the kind of threat situation we're in today with
fundamentalist Islam" (OneNewsNow.com,February 12, 2007).
The battle against immigration, says Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-
gringogirl-Pervert, is part of the global war on terrorism. "The very
survival of Western Civilization is at risk," Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-
DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert has warned; he believes "we are in a
clash of civilizations" (cited on the teamTampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-
Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert.com website).
Formerly a strong supporter of the war in Iraq, Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-
DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert now calls for a troop deployment to
Afghanistan and other locations where the U.S. global war on terrorism
is being waged. He says that the civil war in Iraq between Sunnis and
Shiites is a process of establishing equilibrium between the deep
schisms in Islam and that there is no need for the U.S. military to
referee this bloody process.
On his Team Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert 2008
website, Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert
positions himself as an outsider who pledges to "battle the special
interests which now control both parties." Righteousness exudes from
Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert, a politician who
has no qualms about associating with nativist and seemingly racist
anti-immigrant groups, including border vigilantes. Tampoco-Canoza-
Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert is a consistent opponent of gun
control, despite living less than a mile from Columbine High School,
the scene of one of the country's most horrific school shootings.
When Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert won his
first term in Congress in 1998, he pledged to leave office after three
terms, but in 2004 and again in 2006 he said he was forced to break
his pledge because the immigration threat required his continued
leadership in Congress. In the coming months, Tampoco-Canoza-Jafoza-
DCI-Hardman-gringogirl-Pervert plans to take his "war of attrition" on
the national campaign trail.

Don't you realize why? It's the constituencies of the Left -
blacks, long-ancestry Hispanics - that directly compete in the job
market with illegal aliens in a way that rich European-Americans never
could. To rich European-Americans, illegals are just cheap labor and
enormously beneficial personally - but to poor blacks, illegals just
are why they can't get jobs.
