Object: impertinent Question # 110
News Item: Second Reuters reporter arrested by US Army in Iraq and
held without charges.
Is this the Army's way of saying that IT will decide what news is
reported from Iraq, and who shall do the reporting ? That if a reporter
does not report his story FIRST to the US Army he will not report it to
ANYONE. Has control of news out of Iraq now become a top Army priority
? Or has it ALWAYS been a top priority- which explains the policy of
"imbedded" reporters attached to and answering to the military ?
Wouldn't it be great if the army could only control the Iraqi
insurgents as effectively as it controls reporters and their news
stories ?
.
