Object: Impertinent Question # 173
We have ALL kinds of goodies to offer India in order to seal a deal
with that poverty stricken country. But what has India to offer the
US that, having obtained it, we could rightfully congratulate
ourselves, and claim a great diplomatic victory ? Why do I have the
feeling that the diplomatic victory was pre-ordained and indeed was
desperately needed for a president whose approval ratings could not
sink much lower ? Isn't it clear that this administration would claim
a great diplomatic victory if India had offered us a half a bucket of
warm spit ?
