Object: Impertinent Question # 198
Now that America's puppet government in Iraq has expressed
its support for Hizbolla, and now that massive demonstrations are being
held on the streets of Baghdad, to support Hizbolla, isn't it time
for someone - anyone- in Washington to explain to the American people
why that country is worth the life on even one more American soldier or
marine ? Or was worth it AT ALL ?

A very thoughtful post.
It would be impossible to dispute your sentiments.
However, an immediate withdrawal would cause
a disaster. Iraq would revert to a state, far worse,
than the Hussein era. The Radical Mullahs would
take control.
Do not look for a solution from Washington.
Let alone an explanation.

Uh, who do you think is in control now, fool?
Yeah, right. We can't withdraw because there might be a bloodbath.
If we withdrew now, the Iraqis would be forced to find a way to
reconcile. None of them really wants this bloodletting to continue. Our
presence is like the enabler in an alcoholic family.
