Object: Impertinent Question # One Hundred One
No legitimate insurance company will sell fire insurance to someone who
wants to build a house on top of an active volcano. Or sell flood
insurance to someone living below sea level and subject to flooding from
a lake, AND a river AND an ocean ! Such market decisions will and
should send a message to people about building, rebuilding or living in
such an area. So guess who steps in and sells such insurance policies
and guess whose money is used to pay claims after a flood ? (PROVIDED
the claimant remains in the same area) If our government were using
THEIR money to insure and pay these claims, does anyone think they would
continue this practice very long ? So why is it OK to use OUR money ? Do
we have a ship of state that is all sail and no rudder ??? Is there no
one in Washington with the courage to say STOP IT ! This is STUPID !

Hear hear brother. I been saying exactly this very same stuff for a
long damn time now. Why the ***** FEMA keeps covering the Gulf States &
Florida in particular every year when they always seem to get slammed
by major hurricanes is beyond my comprehension. Total waste of
taxpayer's money if you ask me. If it is in an area that is prone to
being hit by hurricanes (annually these last few years it seems),
don't pay them to rebuild & live there so they can get wiped out again
in next year's big hurricane.
Citizens of the U.S. - you don't see the drain on our taxes this kind
of stupidity does to the country? Tell the Feds to use their brains &
stop acting like we're a bottomless source of funding revenue for the
world's stupidest insurance company - stop paying FEMA funds to morons
who live in hurricane alley down there, especially the state of
Florida! :-p
