Dear PHXnews Readers,
Today Jim Gilchrist, the founder of the Minuteman Project led a rally
to secure America’s borders at the site of World Trade Center in New
York City.
This evening I saw a Reuters article written by Michelle Nichols that
appeared in The Long Island Press claiming “Members of the Minuteman
Project, which patrols the U.S.-Mexican border for illegal immigrants,
pushed and shoved members of an immigrant rights group that showed up
at the event.” The Reuters Article
So, to get the facts from the man in the middle, I looked into my Trio,
pulled out Jim Gilchrist’s cell phone number and called him as he was
standing on the streets of New York. How’s that for citizen journalism?
After reading reporter Michelle Nichols’ claim that Members of the
Minuteman Project pushed and shoved members of an immigrant rights
group, Mr. Gilchrist told me her report of the events was an “out right
lie!”
Is Reuters being unethical with their coverage of today’s immigration
protest at the World Trade Center? Did Michelle Nichols lie? Who are
the thugs that caused the aggression and why are they turning to
violence?
