When George Bush and Tony Blair meet here next week to discuss Iraq, one
dark truth will dominate everything: This is not how it was supposed to be.
A year ago, the assumption was that come April 2004, a liberated Iraq would
be well on the way to acquiring democracy, freedom, peace and prosperity,
and all those other wonderful attributes of civilisation Western armies can
bestow. How different today. A year on, an ungrateful Iraq is on the brink
of civil war, its factions united only by resentment of the American and
allied occupiers, and by the bullets and bombs they use against them.
As one Iraqi city after another erupts in violence, Americans feel less
rather than more safe in their own country, 30 months after the terrorist
attacks on New York and Washington. And the President's once seemingly
inevitable re-election is now hostage to a dirty, semi-guerrilla war
thousands of miles away.
Sound familiar? It should. Almost 36 years ago another President, named
Lyndon Johnson, mired in an unwinnable war, announced he was stepping down.
George Bush will not. But the political vocabulary of that era is
flourishing again. The US again is "trapped in a quagmire".
This President, whose casus belli over weapons of mass destruction (WMD)
has proved a fiction, is accused of having his own yawning "credibility
gap". Most Iraqis want America to succeed, Donald Rumsfeld, the Defence
Secretary, assured the world again on Wednesday. "We haven't lost
control," he said. But this was not the grinning, bullying, confident
Rumsfeld of a year ago, mocking the fainthearted as US armoured columns
roared across Iraq. This time, he was brusque and tight-faced, as he tried
to explain dozens of new US casualties.
In 2003, the cost of the war was put at $50bn (£27bn). It is $160bn and
rising. The troops were promised they would be home within a year. Now the
135,000-strong US deployment will increase to 150,000, confronted by the
grim reality of an open-ended stay. Suspicions grow that Iraq, has, in the
words of Richard Clarke, White House counter-terrorism chief under
President Bush and Bill Clinton, undermined the war on terror. Then there
are those missing WMD, in whose name 650-odd Americans and untold thousands
of Iraqis have died?Clearly, hell-bent on taking out Saddam Hussein, the
Bush team ignored CIA warnings of how difficult post-war reconstruction
would be.
In March 2003, three-quarters of Americans backed the invasion. That figure
is 57 per cent today. Iraq is not Vietnam. Iraq is an unprovoked war of
choice, launched by a US President against a regime that posed no threat to
the US, or anyone else.

July 1968
Members of the Popular Front for the Liberation Palestine (PFLP)
hijacked an El Al flight en route to Tel Aviv and forced it to land in
Algiers. The attack marked the first aircraft hijacking by a
Palestinian group. The hijackers were said to have believed Israeli
General Ariel Sharon was on the flight. The passengers and crew were
detained by Algeria for six weeks.
Sept 1970
The first mass hijacking occurred in 1970, when the Popular Front for
the Liberation of Palestine seized control of two American planes and
one Swiss airliner, all bound from Europe to the United States, to
punish the United States for supporting Israel. The Pan Am, TWA and
Swissair planes were blown up on the ground in Jordan and Egypt.
Sept 1972
Palestinian Black September terrorists massacred 11 Israeli athletes
at the Munich Olympics. An airport shootout also leaves 5 captors and
1 policeman dead.
June 1976
An Air France airliner is hijacked by a joint German
Baader-Meinhof/Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terrorist
group and its crew are forced to fly to Entebbe airport in Uganda.
Some two hundred and fifty eight passengers and crew are held hostage
but all non-Israeli passengers are eventually released. On 4 July
Israeli commandos fly to Uganda and rescue the remaining hostages. All
the terrorists were killed in the rescue, as are three passengers and
one commando.
Oct 1976
Seventy three people killed when Miami, Florida based El Condor Cuban
exiles explode a bomb aboard a Cuban Airlines jet as it takes off from
Barbados.
Oct 1977
Four Palestinian terrorists hijack a German Lufthansa Boeing 737 and
order it to fly around a number of Middle East destinations for four
days. After the plane's pilot is killed by the terrorists, it is
stormed by German GSG9 counter-terrorist troops, assisted by two
British Army Special Air Service soldiers, when it puts down at
Mogadishu, Somalia. All the ninety hostages are rescued and three
terrorists killed.
March 1978
A nine strong Al Fatah Palestinian seaborne raiding party lands in
Israel and hijacks a bus, killing twenty six civilians and wounding
seventy. All the terrorists are killed by Israeli security forces. The
Israelis retaliate by invading southern Lebanon, under code name
Operation Litani.
May 1979
One person hurt in a package bomb explosion at Northwestern
University, United States, which is designated as the first ever
attack by the so-called Unabomber. After nearly 30 years of bombings,
Theodore Kaczynski was eventually turned in by his brother and given a
life Sentence.
Nov 1979
Two hundred Islamic terrorists seize Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi
Arabia, taking hundred of pilgrims hostage. Saudi and French security
forces retake the Islamic world's most holy shrine after a intense
battle, in which some two hundred and fifty people were killed and six
hundred wounded.
April 1980
Iranian Arabs seized the Iranian embassy in London, taking twenty-six
people hostage. Two hostages were killed on May 5. Special forces
stormed the embassy, rescuing the remaining hostages and killing five
of the six terrorists. Much of the embassy was destroyed by fire.
May 1982
Abu Nidal terrorists critically injured the Israeli ambassador to the
United Kingdom in an attack in London. The shooting caused the
government of Israel to launch an invasion of Lebanon in the "Peace
for Galilee" operation.
July 1982
Eleven persons were killed on July 20, 1982 in Regency Park and Hyde
Park in London by bombs planted by the Provisional Irish Republican
Army (PIRA), a Northern Ireland terrorist organization which is trying
to force the U.K. out of Northern Ireland so that Ulster can be united
with the Republic of Ireland.
August 1982
Gunmen threw a grenade into a restaurant in Paris and then opened fire
with automatic weapons, killing six people and wounding twenty-seven.
Two of the dead and two of the wounded were Americans. Action Directe
claimed, and then denied, responsibility for the attack.
April 1983
A car bomb exploded in front of the U.S. embassy in Beirut, killing
sixty-three people, including seventeen Americans. More than one
hundred others were wounded. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility,
calling the bombing "part of the Islamic revolution." Iran
subsequently denied having any role in the attack.
Oct 1983
Terrorists bombed the U.S. Marine compound in Beirut, causing the
largest loss of U.S. military personnel in a single event since the
Vietnam War. The blast, which killed 241, was carried out by Muslim
militias after U.S. warships intervened in Lebanon's civil war.
Dec 1983
Harrod's department store in London was bombed on December 16, by the
northern Ireland terrorist organization Provisional Irish Republican
Army (PIRA). The bombing killed five, including one U.S. citizen, and
injured ninety-one others.
Sept 1984
Fourteen people were killed and seventy were wounded when a van loaded
with four hundred pounds of explosives drove past the checkpoint in
front of the U.S. embassy annex in Awkar and exploded. The driver of
the van was shot and killed by British security guards. Islamic Jihad
claimed responsibility for the bombing in a call to the media.
June 1985
A bomb exploded on an Air India flight over the North Atlantic
following its departure from Canada, killing all three hundred
twenty-nine passengers on board. A second bomb exploded at Narita
Airport in Japan, killing two people. Sikh extremists claimed
responsibility for both bombings.
July 1985
Abu Nidal terrorists bombed a British Airways ticket office in Madrid,
killing one person and injuring twenty-seven. A TWA office also was
destroyed. The bombings apparently were in retaliation against
President Reagan's threat the previous day to strike against
terrorism.
Oct 1985
Four Palestinian gunmen hijacked the Italian cruise ship "Achille
Lauro" off Alexandria, Egypt. While off the Syrian port of Tartus, the
terrorists killed a wheelchair-bound American. Egypt and Italy
negotiated the return of the ship and the remaining passengers. U.S.
fighters intercepted an Egyptian jet carrying the hijackers and forced
it down at a NATO base in Italy.
Nov 1985
An Egyptian jet was hijacked to Malta. Fifty-nine passengers,
including one American, were killed when Egyptian troops stormed the
plane in Malta on November 24.
April 1986
Four Americans were killed and nine people, including five Americans,
were injured when a bomb exploded aboard TWA flight 840 as it traveled
from Rome to Athens. The aircraft was able to land safely at Athens
airport.
April 1986
Le Belle Disco, a nightclub in West Berlin frequented by U.S.
servicemen, was bombed, killing two American soldiers and one Turkish
woman. Two hundred others were wounded in the bombing. Libya was
implicated in the bombing.
Sept 1986
Twenty-one Jewish worshipers were killed in Istanbul during an attack
on a synagogue by an Abu Nidal terrorist team.
June 1987
A car bomb exploded outside the back gate of the U.S. Embassy in Rome
and rockets were fired at the compound from across the street. One
passerby was injured in the attacks.
Nov 1987
Korean Air Lines Flight 858 was blown up over the Andaman Sea near
Burma by two North Korean agents, killing all 115 persons aboard.
Nov 1987
Thirteen people were killed in the Northern Ireland town of
Enniskillen when the Provisional Irish Republican Army (PIRA)
detonated a bomb during the town's observance of Remembrance Day.
Dec 1988
Pan Am Flight 103, outbound from London for New York with 259 people
aboard, was destroyed by a bomb on December 21, 1988 while over
Lockerbie, Scotland. All aboard the aircraft were killed as were
eleven persons on the ground at Lockerbie.
Sept 1989
UTA Flight 772 from Chad was blown up by bomb while flying over the
Sahara desert in Niger, killing all 171 passengers and crew onboard.
Feb 1993
Terrorism came to U.S. soil for the first time in the 1993 bombing of
the World Trade Center, which killed six and injured 1,000. The
mastermind was Ramzi Ahmed Yousef, a Pakistani militant trained in
Afghanistan. Yousef was captured in 1995 in Pakistan. When he was
brought to New York for trial, he bragged to FBI agents that he could
have destroyed the complex if he'd had sufficient funds and equipment.
March 1995
Terrorists used chemical weapons for the first time when Aum
Shinrikyo, also known as the Aum Supreme Truth, simultaneously
released the chemical nerve agent sarin on several Tokyo subway
trains. Twelve people were killed and up to 6,000 injured.
April 1995
At 9:03 AM, a truck bomb shattered the Alfred P Murrah Federal
Building in downtown Oklahoma City, killing 168 people-including
children playing in the building's day care center.
June 1996
The explosion of a fuel truck set off by terrorists outside the
northern fence of the Khobar Towers complex near King Abdul Aziz Air
Base, Saudi Arabia, killed 19 U.S. military service members and
injured over 260.
Aug 1998
In Nairobi, Kenya a car bomb exploded behind the US Embassy, killing
291 persons and wounding about 5,000. Terrorists associated with Usama
Bin Ladin' al-Qaida organization also detonated an extremely large
truck bomb outside the US Embassy in Tanzania, killing 10 Tanzanians
and injured 77 persons.
Sept 2001
America experiences its worst case of terrorism when Usama Bin Ladin
trained and funded agents take over four domestic airliners. Two jets
are flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, causing an
estimated number of 3,000 people to lose their lives. A third plane is
flown into the Pentagon, killing around 180 people. In western
Pennsylvania the fourth hijacked jet crashes after passengers struggle
with the terrorists.
Oct 2002
More than 180 people are killed in a double terrorist bombing in Bali,
Indonesia. Over 300 people — many of whom were foreign tourists — are
injured in the attack on a nightclub on the resort island. Jemaah
Islamiyah, an Islamic extremist group allied with Al Qaeda, is
believed to be behind the blasts.

I thought Iraq was Geonosis -- except that the Republic didn't capture
Count Dooku, and we captured Sodom Hussein. Or do you think that Saddam
is more analogous to Poggle the Lesser?

No, when I saw that, immediately thought of Bin Laden. Bin Laden is
definitely Dooku. I think Musharraf is more analogous to Poggle The Lesser.
Saddam is more like Jabba the Hutt, he was a criminal out for himself, and
got one too many people upset at him.

unwholesome mixture of gloating and rubbing his hands together and

identification of Osama bin La-Deen with a Jedi knight(!), and a habit
of cross-posting to ten Usenet groups simultaneously. So I make it a

supply any pictures or blueprints or any physical evidence.
Nevertheless, the United Press correspondent, Henry Shapiro,
obediantly echoed the Soviets story.
The Soviets said that the Auschwitz complex was entirely a "murder
machine". There was not a single word to indicate that the camp was
part of the German armament industies, as we now know it clearly was.
Even if the Germans had "leveled" the alleged huge grave pits the
bodies would still be present. However anyone familiar with the matter
knows that in Auschwitz no large grave sites were ever found.
The Communists did not allow any inspection of the camps by foreign
observers for many months afterwards and their claims conflict with
what "holocaust experts" say today. Today the experts all talk of gas
chambers is Birkenau, a part of the camp far to the west. This is much
different from where the Communists initially claimed that they were.
The Communists said the gas chambers were "remodelled", while today
the experts say the gas chambers were completely destroyed. The
Communists said the gas chambers were made to look like "harmless
garages". But they did not supply a single photo of one.
The initial Communist reports also do not mention things that are
now claimed to have been there. There is no mention of a pile of
eyeglasses, or hair, or shoes. There is no mention of underground gas
chambers. There is no mention of "farmhouses" remodelled to be gas
chambers. There is no mention of the rivers clogged with human ashes.
Today the experts are forced to admit that there were no gas
chambers in Germany. We are now told that "gassing" and
"extermination" camps were located exclusively in what is
now Poland, in areas captured by the Soviet Red Army and made
off-limits to
western investigators.
Today tourists can go to Auschwitz and be shown a "gas chamber".
This is admitted by the experts not to be genuine.

Ever since September 11, Jewish commentators and columnists have
beaten
their war drums for an all-out war against Iraq -- Kristol, Kagan,
Krauthammer, Safire, Kondrake, Feder, Wattenberg, and many others --
all
of them deceptively pretending to be neutral observers, pretending to
place American interests before those of Israel. Mortimer Zuckerman
takes the cake in this category by being not only a columnist for US
News and World Report; but its owner as well, and the owner of the NY
Daily News to boot. And Zuckerman also apparently feels there's no
conflict of interest in his publications' coverage of the Middle East
caused by his current tenure as the Chairman of the Conference of
Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations, an umbrella group of
fifty-two
national Jewish organizations, whose very name and structure reveal
the
enormity of Jewish power and influence.
Meanwhile, the cousins of the Jewish commentators and columnists are
busy at work in Washington, seeking to shape U.S. foreign policy
through
their official and advisory positions in the Bush administration.
Richard Perle, a Jew and Director of the Defense Policy Board, and a
Director of the Jerusalem Post as well, would like us to attack Iraq
now, as would Deputy Secretary of Defense, Paul Wolfowitz, a Jew who,
during the Gulf War aroused the fury of our senior military officers
who
claimed, quite correctly, that Wolfowitz was overly sympathetic to
Israel [ New York Times, Dec. 23, 1991, p. A14].
Perle and Wolfowitz are joined in their cabal by "our" Undersecretary
of
Defense for Policy, Douglas Feith, a Jew who recently approved a plan
to
nuke Iraq if it moves against Israel, and Vice President Cheney's
Jewish
chief of staff, Lewis Libby, and Elliott Abrams, Bush's Jewish
"National
Security Director for Democracy, Human Rights and International
Operations." And we can't forget Bush's Press Secretary and chief
handler, Ari Fleischer, also a Jew. Imagine the uproar if as many
media
pundits and government officials were of Iraqi or Palestinian descent!
Imagine the media outrage if even one major columnist or advisor was
discovered to be a member of the National Alliance.
Having initiated the media barrage calling for a U.S. attack on Iraq,
Jews are now trying to keep a low profile, fearful that the American
people might finally connect the dots and realize that the Jews'
reason
for wanting war is not that they are concerned about the interests of
New York fire-fighters or Pennsylvania coal-miners -- but that they
are
primarily concerned, as they always have been, about the future of
Israel and World Jewry.
Fearing a Gentile backlash against their subversive activities, it is
critical for the Jews that most Americans not perceive who is behind
the
constant agitation for another war against Iraq. The Jewish
Telegraphic
Agency reported last week [July 30] that "some analysts say that
Jewish
leaders keep a low profile out of concern that critics might say
America
is attacking Iraq to benefit Israel."
God forbid that anyone should dare reach such a conclusion! Jews are
concerned not about whether attacking Saddam Hussein is good for
America, but whether it is good for Israel. Forget that American blood
and resources will be sacrificed. Forget that Jewish sabre-rattling
will
endanger the nation by making us the focus of Arab resentment. To the
"Chosen," it doesn't really matter if thousands of additional Iraqi
civilians are killed in an American attack. During the Gulf War, we
bombarded Iraqi cities for two months, killing 80,000 innocent
civilians
[Il Giorno, Milan. Found in the Cape Cod Times, Aug. 3, 2002, p. A14].
At least 333,000 children and elderly Iraqis, and perhaps three times
that many, have died prematurely since the war began, thanks to the
U.S.-sponsored blockade of medicine and food, and our destruction of
Iraqi water purification plants. Madeleine Albright, the Jewish former
Secretary of State, justified these cruel policies and coldly
dismissed
humanitarian concerns with the comment that "the price is worth it."
333,000 dead babies and old people, worth it. 80,000 wives and
husbands
and children dead, worth it. All of this, against a country that
presents no threat to the United States! After all, Iraq is over 6,000
miles away, with no ballistic missiles that could reach us -- but,
with
missiles that could reach Tel Aviv. Since many Jews regard Israel as
our
"51st state," they have decided that we must launch a "preemptive war"
against their enemy. They have blood on their hands, up to their
shoulders. Yet they pretend to be innocent lambs who have the best
interests of America at heart.
Jews do not lose sleep at night worrying if such an attack will turn
virtually the entire Moslem world of over one billion people against
America, and subject us to further attacks like those of September
11th.
During World War II, there was a joke that, as the Gentiles marched
off
to war, the favorite song of the Jews was "Onward Christian Soldiers,"
and that may once again be the case again if we attack Iraq. For one
thing is certain -- the children of Wolfowitz and Perle and
Krauthammer
and their ilk will not be marching off in uniform, or coming home in
body-bags, or with Purple Hearts.
The Jewish Telegraphic Agency article goes on to note the strategy of
one influential Jewish leader: "Why should it be a Jewish or Israeli
issue?" asked Morris Amitay, a pro-Israel activist and former
executive
director of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, better known
around Washington as AIPAC: "We should stay as patriotic as the next
guy, but not be out front." As for the Jewish motivation for
instigating
a US war against Iraq, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency article reveals
that "[t]he Jewish community views an attack on Iraq as advantageous
on
several levels. . . .
"[A] regime change in Iraq would be in Israel's best interest. Iraq's
production of weapons of mass destruction and apparent willingness to
use them are a constant threat to Israel's security. . . .
"American engagement in Iraq could help Israel's standing in its
conflict with the Palestinians. President Saddam Hussein has been
financially assisting Palestinian terrorist groups and giving funds to
the families of suicide bombers. Many believe Hussein would try to
rally
Arab governments to his side by attacking Israel.
"In addition, some argue that overthrowing Hussein would send a strong
message to the Palestinians about the consequences of terrorism."[End
of
quote.]
The Jewish-owned New York Times said in a recent editorial [August 3,
2002] that what is crucial is that Iraq be disarmed of all
"unconventional weapons" -- the so-called "weapons of mass
destruction."
In other words, what the Times wants, but doesn't quite dare say, is a
Middle East in which only one country has nuclear weapons -- Israel.
This would give Israel's Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, known as the
"Butcher of Beirut" for his bloody massacres of innocents going back
decades and still happening today, the power to perpetually dominate
the
Arab world. It is Israel, and not Iraq nor other Arab nations that
possesses the greatest Middle Eastern arsenal of over 450 nuclear
weapons of mass destruction -- many of which were built during a time
when Israel deceitfully disavowed any intention to build nuclear
weapons.
Of course Israel's vast nuclear arsenal has evoked nary a peep of
criticism from American bureaucrats, elected officials or political
commentators. According to American law, all aid to Israel would have
to
stop if it were proven that she had built nuclear weapons in violation
of her agreements. All official Washington knows that Israel has done
exactly that, but they keep silent to oblige Israel in getting more
American money and more American blood. They have blood on their
hands,
up to their shoulders. Yet they pretend to be innocent lambs who have
the best interests of America at heart.
It is also Israel, and not Iraq, that is in the process of
manufacturing
genocidal biological weapons capable of killing Iraqis while leaving
Jews unharmed. On November 15, 1998, the Sunday Times of London
reported
that Israel was developing an "ethno-bomb." It is reported that
Israeli
scientists are trying to exploit medical advances by identifying a
gene
carried by some Arabs, and then creating a genetically-modified
bacterium or virus. The deadly micro-organisms would attack only Arabs
or other non-Jews, leaving Jews unscathed. Talk about genocide and
"weapons of mass destruction"!
A senior Israeli intelligence official has admitted that "There is
hardly a single known or unknown form of chemical or biological weapon
?
which is not manufactured [in Israel]." [John Steinbach, "Nuke Nation:

The big threat in the Middle East is Israel, not Iraq. The only
weapons
of mass destruction in the Middle East are in Israel. Its 450 nuclear
weapons [Wash. Post, March 11, 2001, B2], are far more than it needs
for
deterrence. Israel has ballistic missiles and bombers capable of
reaching Moscow. They are the world's fourth or fifth most powerful
nuclear power, and Israel is the only Middle Eastern nation that
adamantly refuses to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
Don't forget that from the 1950s the United States was training
Israeli
nuclear scientists and providing nuclear-related technology. [John

It is clear that Israel has had no
interest in peace except that which is dictated on its own terms.
Israel
is the primary destabilizing force driving the Middle East arms race
and
compelling the region's states to seek their own deterrents. George W.
Bush talks about an "Axis of Evil," a term cooked up by David Frum,
his
Jewish speech-writer, but this absurd attempt at demonization
represents
a grotesque double-standard by which Iraq, Iran, and North Korea are
condemned for developing nuclear weapons, while Israel -- the
principal
culprit -- is permitted to increase its nuclear and biological arsenal
in blatant violation of American laws that ought to cut off all aid to
the Jewish state. Even the Jewish writer Seymour Hersh has admitted
that
"the size and sophistication of Israel's nuclear arsenal allows men
such
as Ariel Sharon to dream of redrawing the map of the Middle East aided
by the implicit threat of nuclear force." [quoted in Steinlight]
Thanks to Israeli expansionism and terrorism, and international Jewish
agitation, a wide-scale nuclear conflict in the Middle East has now
become a distinct possibility. It could be triggered by religious
zealots, or by secular Zionist fanatics, or both. Such a war would be
directed by Ariel Sharon, a war criminal whose record as a murderer
stretches from the massacre of Palestinian civilians in 1953 to the
massacres at Sabra and Shatila in 1982, to this year's massacre at
Jenin, to this month's openly-admitted rocket attack on a civilian
apartment complex. They have blood on their hands, up to their
shoulders. Yet they pretend to be innocent lambs who have the best
interests of America at heart.
How has the United States benefited from its love affair with Israel,
after having deferred to its every whim for over half a century?
Refusal
to withdraw from Palestinian and Syrian territory, disregard for UN
resolutions and U.S. requests, proliferation of nuclear weapons,
aggression against its neighbors, damage to American relations with
other Middle East countries, the deliberate bombing of the U.S.S.
Liberty, and espionage against the U.S. by Jonathan Pollard and
others.
In fact, the Israeli Cabinet honored Pollard by declaring him an
Israeli
citizen in 1995, and he has been elevated to the status of a national
hero there. Israel, the nation that is the largest recipient of
American
foreign and military aid in the world has reciprocated by placing
spies
in our government. Unfortunately, Pollard's case may be only the tip
of
the iceberg. Confirmation of recent Israeli spying on American soil
was
offered by the French newspaper Le Monde this past March and discussed
by Dr. Pierce in prior American Dissident Voices broadcasts.
It is high time that Americans woke up and spoke out about what this
one-sided relationship is costing us. Israel has worked against our
interests on other occasions, too. In 1992, Israel illegally resold
American military technology to China, and resold aerial refueling

Do you remember Mordechai Vanunu? He is the Israeli whistle blower who
is finishing his twelfth year in captivity -- and the American news
media continue to treat him as a non-person. On Sept. 30, 1986,
Israel's
government lured Vanunu to Rome, abducted him, and put him on a cargo
ship back to Israel. At a secret trial, he faced charges of espionage
and treason. A military court sentenced him to 18 years in prison.
What
was Vanunu's crime? He gave detailed information about Israel's secret
arsenal of nuclear bombs to journalists at the Sunday Times of London.
After growing up in a Jewish family that emigrated to Israel from
Morocco when he was a boy, Mordechai Vanunu became an employee at the
Dimona nuclear plant in 1976. Nearly a decade later -- shortly before
his employment ended at the remote nuclear facility -- he took photos
of
areas inside Dimona which had always been illegally hidden from
international inspection. Using severance pay to travel abroad in
1986,
Vanunu contacted the famous Insight investigative unit of Britain's
Sunday Times. "During his extensive debriefing by our Insight team,"
the
newspaper reported, "he offered to give the paper his photographs and
all his information for nothing, provided we did not publish his name,
insisting his sole interest was in stopping nuclear proliferation in
the
Middle East." However, the Sunday Times persuaded Vanunu to allow his
name to be used. The paper agreed to pay him for the serialization of
his story, or for a book. Peter Hounam, the main reporter on the story
for the Sunday Times said: "My impression of the man was of someone
who
had a genuine desire to tell the world of something that was going on
which he felt was genuinely wrong for Israel to do. He felt it was
wrong
that the Israeli public and parliament were not given any information
about what was happening in Dimona." On Oct. 5, 1986, the Sunday Times
broke the story under the front-page headline "REVEALED: THE SECRETS
OF
ISRAEL'S NUCLEAR ARSENAL." But by then, Vanunu was a prisoner of the
Israeli government. That's how the world learned that he'd been
kidnapped. From then on, when he was transported to court, the van
windows were painted black. And it is still very dark for him. After a
dozen years, much of them in isolation, he is still in prison.
Can you imagine what would have happened if another country in the
Middle East -- say, Iraq or Iran -- kidnapped one of its citizens from
Western Europe to retaliate for spilling the beans about its nuclear
weaponry? That person would have become an instant media hero in the
United States. But if you mention Mordechai Vanunu's name to an
American, you're likely to get a blank stare. On this side of the
Atlantic, he's a media phantom. The United States' media coverage of
Vanunu has remained paltry: just a few scattered newspaper articles.
The
New York Times - America's supposed "newspaper of record" -- has
hardly
mentioned Vanunu at all. That's quite a contrast to the situation in
Britain, where coverage of Vanunu's case has been extensive and
sustained. Recently, in the course of several months, mainstream
British
outlets have done at least 45 major stories about Vanunu, according to
Nexis. Sixteen of them appeared in the Sunday Times alone. Top
politicians and journalists in Washington wag their fingers at India
and
Pakistan for joining the world's nuclear club without an invitation.
But
there is no such scolding of Israel, which receives U.S. aid at a rate
of about $10 Million a day, while maintaining a stockpile of hundreds
of
nuclear warheads.
If you wonder why this broadcast is virtually the only voice in the
United States of America which dares to tell the truth on this vital
issue, consider the fate of Mordechai Vanunu, for daring to tell the
truth about Israel's weapons of mass destruction.
Speaking of the suppression of news that is unfavorable to Israel,
have
you heard about the case of former Israeli secret agent, Victor
Ostrovsky? Although he fled to Canada after revealing the tactics of
the
Mossad (Israel's spy and assassination agency) in a book, he continued
to be pursued by the allies of Israel there and in the United States.
[The Washington Report on Middle East Affairs (October/November 1997,
pp
37, 84-85).] He has written that "[t]he same people who presumably
would
praise someone from the CIA or the U.S. armed forces who exposed
serious
wrongdoing in those institutions were now hard at work to smother my
criticisms of an intelligence agency for a foreign country that, to
put
it as charitably as possible, does not have America's best interests
at
heart." In 1995, an Israeli television executive called for
Ostrovsky's
assassination during a broadcast telephone interview with him. Those
same "Americans" who call Ostrovsky a traitor to Israel for exposing
the
Mossad's tactics hail as a hero Jonathan Pollard, a traitor to the
U.S.
who spied on the American government for Israel.
The suppression of criticism of Israel continues. There is the case of
the two Oneida, New York Daily Dispatch editors who were fired last
September for daring to mention Israeli terrorism and Israel's acts of
oppression in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It is horrifying to
think that in a land priding itself on free speech that simply
pointing
out Israel's crimes in the Middle East can cause the firing of two
editors. But when you're dealing with the Jewish power structure
you're
not dealing with Americans, and you're not dealing with people who
have
any respect for freedom of speech. The Jews were even able to get the
offending editorial removed from the newspaper's website, as Dr.
Pierce
told us in a recent broadcast [October 27, 2001 ]. These high-handed
tactics of intimidation and suppression combined with the virtual
Jewish
stranglehold on the U.S. news and entertainment industry help explain
why most Americans are so easily misled on political issues where
there
is a vested Jewish interest and agenda.
Now, as our pro-Israeli President threatens Iraq, it becomes
increasingly obvious that Israel would love to have thousands of U.S.
troops permanently stationed nearby. Just as plans for an attack on
Iraq
seem to have originated from a mentality of "Oh, since we're already
in
Afghanistan, why not attack Iraq, too" what is to prevent the whining
(but secretly smiling) Israeli-firsters in the media and government
from
convincing Bush and Congress to decide that since we're already in
Iraq,
we might as well pay a visit to Israel to help them decimate the
Palestinians?
If we truly want peace in the Middle East and if we truly want to
avoid
the escalation of that regional conflict into a nuclear and biological
catastrophe, we'd better wake up and learn how to deal with what the
French ambassador to England so bluntly but aptly referred to as "that
shitty little country Israel" which places us "in danger of World War
III." The French ambassador is not the only one who is waking up. All
over Europe mainstream politicians and writers are speaking out
against
the Jewish disease of unmitigated aggression and genocide, against the
Jewish-led bloodbath. Our kinfolk in Europe are learning the score.
Isn't it about time that we joined them -- before it's too late?

America invades people in the Middle East because America is ruled
by Jews.
Liberating America From Israel

Nine-eleven would not have occurred if the U.S. government had refused
to
help Israel humiliate and destroy Palestinian society. Few express
this
conclusion publicly, but many believe it is the truth. I believe the
catastrophe could have been prevented if any U.S. president during the
past
35 years had had the courage and wisdom to suspend all U.S. aid until
Israel
withdrew from the Arab land seized in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.
The U.S. lobby for Israel is powerful and intimidating, but any
determined
president-even President Bush this very day-could prevail and win
overwhelming public support for the suspension of aid by laying these
facts
before the American people:
Israel's present government, like its predecessors, is determined to
annex
the West Bank-biblical Judea and Samaria - so Israel will become
Greater
Israel. Ultra-Orthodox Jews, who maintain a powerful role in Israeli
politics, believe the Jewish Messiah will not come until Greater
Israel is a
reality. Although a minority in Israel, they are committed,
aggressive, and
influential. Because of deep religious conviction, they are determined
to
prevent Palestinians from gaining statehood on any part of the West
Bank.
In its violent assaults on Palestinians, Israel uses the pretext of
eradicating terrorism, but its forces are actually engaged advancing
the
territorial expansion just cited. Under the guise of anti-terrorism,
Israeli
forces treat Palestinians worse than cattle. With due process nowhere
to be
found, hundreds are detained for long periods and most are tortured.
Some
are assassinated. Homes, orchards, and business places are destroyed.
Entire
cities are kept under intermittent curfew, some confinements lasting
for
weeks. Injured or ill Palestinians needing emergency medical care are
routinely held at checkpoints for an hour or more. Many children are
undernourished. The West Bank and Gaza have become giant concentration
camps. None of this could have occurred without U.S. support. Perhaps
Israeli officials believe life will become so unbearable that most
Palestinians will eventually leave their ancestral homes.
Once beloved worldwide, the U.S. government finds itself reviled in
most
countries because it provides unconditional support of Israeli
violations of
the United Nations Charter, international law, and the precepts of all
major
religious faiths.
How did the American people get into this fix?
Nine-eleven had its principal origin 35 years ago when Israel's U.S.
lobby
began its unbroken success in stifling debate about the proper U.S.
role in
the Arab-Israeli conflict and effectively concealed from public
awareness
the fact that the U.S. government gives massive uncritical support to
Israel.
Thanks to the suffocating influence of Israel's U.S. lobby, open
discussion
of the Arab-Israeli conflict has been non-existent in our government
all
these years. I have firsthand knowledge, because I was a member of the
House
of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee in June 1967 when Israeli
military forces took control of the Golan Heights, a part of Syria, as
well
as the Palestinian West Bank and Gaza. I continued as a member for 16
years
and to this day maintain a close watch on Congress.
For 35 years, not a word has been expressed in that committee or in
either
chamber of Congress that deserves to be called debate on Middle East
policy.
No restrictive or limiting amendments on aid to Israel have been
offered for
20 years, and none of the few offered in previous years received more
than a
handful of votes. On Capitol Hill, criticism of Israel, even in
private
conversation, is all but forbidden, treated as downright unpatriotic,
if not
anti-Semitic. The continued absence of free speech was assured when
those
few who spoke out-Senators Adlai Stevenson and Charles Percy, and
Reps. Paul
"Pete" McCloskey, Cynthia McKinney, Earl Hilliard, and myself-were
defeated
at the polls by candidates heavily financed by pro-Israel forces.
As a result, legislation dealing with the Middle East has been heavily
biased in favor of Israel and against Palestinians and other Arabs
year
after year. Home constituencies, misled by news coverage equally
lop-sided
in Israel's favor, remain largely unaware that Congress behaves as if
it
were a subcommittee of the Israeli parliament.
However, the bias is widely noted beyond America, where most news
media
candidly cover Israel's conquest and generally excoriate America's
complicity and complacency. When President Bush welcomed Israeli Prime
Minister Ariel Sharon, sometimes called the Butcher of Beirut, as "my
dear
friend" and "a man of peace" after Israeli forces, using U.S.-donated
arms,
completed their devastation of the West Bank last spring, worldwide
anger
against American policy reached the boiling point.
The fury should surprise no one who reads foreign newspapers or
listens to
BBC. In several televised statements long before 9/11, Osama bin
Laden,
believed by U.S. authorities to have masterminded 9/11, cited U.S.
complicity in Israel's destruction of Palestinian society as a
principal
complaint. Prominent foreigners, in and out of government, express
their
opposition to U.S. policies with unprecedented frequency and severity,
especially since Bush announced his determination to make war against
Iraq.
The lobby's intimidation remains pervasive. It seems to reach every
government center and even houses of worship and revered institutions
of
higher learning. It is highly effective in silencing the many U.S.
Jews who
object to the lobby's tactics and Israel's brutality...
Today, a year after 9/11, President Bush has made no attempt to
redress
grievances, or even to identify them. In fact, he has made the scene
far
worse by supporting Israel's religious war against Palestinians, an
alliance
that has intensified anti-American anger. He seems oblivious to the
fact
that nearly two billion people worldwide regard the plight of
Palestinians
as today's most important foreign-policy challenge. No one in
authority will
admit a calamitous reality that is skillfully shielded from the
American
people but clearly recognized by most of the world: America suffered
9/11
and its aftermath and may soon be at war with Iraq, mainly because
U.S.
policy in the Middle East is made in Israel, not in Washington.
Israel is a scofflaw nation and should be treated as such. Instead of
helping Sharon intensify Palestinian misery, our president should
suspend
all aid until Israel ends its occupation of Arab land Israel seized in
1967.
The suspension would force Sharon's compliance or lead to his removal
from
office, as the Israeli electorate will not tolerate a prime minister
who is
at odds with the White House.
If Bush needs an additional reason for doing the right thing, he can
justify
the suspension as a matter of military necessity, an essential step in
winning international support for his war on terrorism. He can cite a
worthy
precedent. When President Abraham Lincoln issued the proclamation that
freed
only the slaves in states that were then in rebellion, he make the
restriction because of "military necessity."
If Bush suspends U.S. aid, he will liberate all Americans from long
years of
bondage to Israel's misdeeds.
