Iraq on verge of civil war |
From Reuters, 10/8/05:
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L0878923.htm
LONDON, Oct 8 (Reuters) -
Iraq is on the verge of civil war and there is no clear strategy or
leadership to reconcile the different communities, the head of the
Arab League said on Saturday.
Speaking to BBC radio, Amr Moussa said the League would work to bring
the different groups together.
"The situation is so tense ... a civil war could erupt at any moment,
although some people would say it is already there, so we cannot leave
Iraq with divisions and disagreement and conflict and shooting," he
said.
"There are a lot of individuals ... now playing games with the future
of Iraq and there is no clear strategy, there is no clear leadership."

The Iraqis were to greet us as 'liberators'. Arms open wide and
strewing rose petals at our feet.
Did they miss the memo?
Sheesh.
Pretty quiet from Wolfie, Perle, Feith et. al. these days isn't it?

You mean where people actually live? Baghdad and Basra are pretty much
Iraq. But who says that violence is only occuring in selected parts of
the country? The actual occupiers are who. Reports from other sources
tell a different story.
Iraq is lawless, the violence is universal.
