Job worries lower consumer confidence in June
Associated Press
Consumer confidence fell more than expected in June as shoppers
fretted about jobs, a private research group said Tuesday.
New home sales also dropped in May for the fourth time in the past
five months, according to government figures, in another sign of
continued weakness in the housing market.
Both pieces of the economic puzzle dropped into a market that is
worried about inflation, interest rates and economic growth ahead of a
two-day meeting of the Federal Reserve that begins Wednesday.
