Missing Arizona rabbi faces child abuse charges

Rabbi David E. Lipman has disappeared without a trace from his home
and Reform synagogue in Prescott, Arizona, missing since May 20 after
two teenage girls from his congregation accused him of fondling them.

"The abuse started with back massages, then Lipman would move his
hands to her buttocks, breasts and (private parts)," according to a
Prescott Police Department report. "She recalls the touching being
under her clothes rather than over her clothes."
The behavior was allegedly repeated over a period of time, with both
girls.
Lipman admitted to at least some of the allegations, Hodap told the
Post. He said Lipman told Detective Robert Peoples, "'The girls are
very honest and they don't lie. If they said that it happened, then it
happened.'"
The rabbi was not taken into custody or served an arrest warrant,
however, on the advice of the Yavapai County Attorney's Office.
Instead, the county suggested that police issue a "long-form
complaint," a less formal summons.
A felony warrant was later issued for Lipman's arrest on 11 counts of
child molestation and five counts of sexual abuse of the girls, aged
16 and 14, respectively.

Get real. How "censored" is this story when it's been all over the
Internet for at least two days now?
As a Jew, I'm willing to say something about your allegation that it
would have been treated different had he been a priest. The reality is
that synagogues just aren't the Catholic Church - as synagogues lack
any hierachy running them; instead, each synagogue hires its own rabbi,
Most even have annual referendums of all members on whether to renew
the rabbi's contract. So there is neither a "diocese" to dump problem
rabbis on other synagogues - nor any way for a problem rabbi to be
assured a job. In short, there's just no analogy to the priest
scandal.

ministers, reverends, pastors, and rabbis
that make them sex freaks of one kind or another.
They seem to hit the news frequently on this subject

Well, is there? You might want to do some research to determine the
relative frequency of sexual deviancy among these professions and compare
it with that of other professions and of the general population.

negative news about them is anti-tribe. If any organization persists, they

Auto crashes are big business and the auto, legal, and medical
businesses don't want americans to get the idea that driving is
dangerous. The media is paid to ignore the 110 americans killed on the
highways every DAY and that's pretty much what they do.

The positions draw pedophiles because the job puts them in a position
of control and trust over kids. Not vice versa.
Also, the media makes more out of these stories when they break than if
the perp had a different job.
