Judge Declines to Dismiss Enron Charges
By KRISTEN HAYS, AP Business Writer
HOUSTON -
The judge overseeing the fraud and conspiracy trial of Enron Corp.
founder Kenneth Lay and former CEO Jeffrey Skilling declined Monday to
dismiss the case based on defense allegations of prosecutorial
misconduct.
U.S. District Judge Sim Lake said attorneys for Lay and Skilling
failed to substantiate their claims that "deliberate, systematic
prosecutorial misconduct" has choked their efforts to prepare for
trial.
The judge said at a Dec. 1 hearing that he doubted he would dismiss
the charges based on the allegations.

Predictions for the year ahead are always a dicey proposition, but
we'll put this one out there -- corporate crime will be the big story
of 2006.
On Wednesday, former top Enron accountant Richard Causey pleaded
guilty to securities fraud in a plea deal that will give Causey a
lighter sentence in exchange for his testimony against Enron founder
Kenneth Lay and former CEO Jeffrey Skilling when they go on trial.
The trial has the potential to lay bare the extent of corruption and
coziness between Enron and the one politician it supported more than
anyone, George W. Bush.

Of course that takes into account all the contributions that
Republicans returned right? no?
And of course 100% of Democrats at Federal, State, and Local levels
returned 100% of their Enron booty right? no?
maybe this explains it best, from your own cite:
