Katherine Harris Gone Nuts |
Asked to explain why Baptists in Florida should care about the election,
Harris said the fate of Western civilization depends on it, telling the
religious publication, "If you're not electing Christians, then in essence
you are going to legislate sin.. And that will take Western civilization,
indeed other nations because people look to our country as one nation as
under God, and whenever we legislate sin and we say abortion is permissible
and we say gay unions are permissible, then average citizens who are not
Christians, because they don't know better, we are leading them astray and
it's wrong."

"If you're not electing Christians, then in essence you are going to
legislate sin."
Typical of those who, like most Americans, have learned to believe in
black-white, win-lose, us-them, red-blue, good-evil categories as the
foundation of all thought. True, Socratic/Platonic logic is built up out of
a series of dichotomies (like the taxonomic systems used in Biology), but
even those ancient worthies realized, with Hamlet, that "There is more in
heaven and earth than is dreamt of in your philosophy" - not to grant
redneck bigotry the status of being anything like a well-thought system of
philosophy.
I simply cannot understand the notion that if you're not Christian you can't
be moral, let alone that you must be immoral. It's such a juvenile concept
you wonder how the speaker could even form the words.

God knows somewhere along the way I've been led astray.

No, turdbiter, you're a good republican. You enjoy profiting from the
disasters of others. I bet you stop traffic accidents to pick the
pockets of the dead and dying.
I've requested before, the name of your business in order to hire some
illegals to compete with you. But for some reason, you just won't. Yes,
you are a "good" bush republican.
