Object: Kerry reneges on promise to release his records
By all accounts, Kerry got purple hearts he didn't deserve. If Kerry
faked even one of these awards, he owed the Navy 243 additional days in
Vietnam before running for anything.
How he obtained the awards is unknown, since his continued refusal to
execute Standard Form 180 means that whatever other documents exist are
known only to Kerry, the Department of Defense and God.

"Senator Kerry's entire military service record is posted on JohnKerry.com.
His entire record," said Michael Meehan, adviser for communications to the
campaign, at a press conference called to defend Mr. Kerry against recent
charges that the former Navy lieutenant didn't deserve some of his war
decorations — three Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star and a Silver Star.
Mr. Meehan, acknowledging that Mr. Kerry has not signed Standard Form 180,
said the records have all been laid out nonetheless.
"Has he signed the form?" he asked. "No. What he's signed is his release
of privacy to the United States Navy to turn over his entire military record
and he's posted it up on his Web site, so the whole world can see his entire
military record."

What you chickenhawks are doing is calling all medals earned in combat into
question while ignoring the very real possibility that Bush is AWOL or a
deserter.

Purple Heart Number Three
The Boston Globe June 6, 2003 --. . . On March 13, 1969, a mine detonated
near Kerry's boat, wounding Kerry in the right arm, according to the
citation written by [Navy Admiral Elmo "Bud"] Zumwalt. Guerrillas started
firing on the boats from the shoreline. Kerry then realized that he had lost
overboard a Green Beret who is identified only as "Rassman."
"The man was receiving sniper fire from both banks," according to Kerry's
Bronze Star citation from that day. "Lt. Kerry directed his gunners to
provide suppressing fire, while from an exposed position on the bow, his arm
bleeding and in pain, with disregard for his personal safety, he pulled the
man aboard. Lt. Kerry then directed his boat to return and assist the other
damaged craft and towed the boat to safety. Lt. Kerry's calmness,
professionalism and great personal courage under fire were in keeping with
the highest traditions of the US Naval Service," Zumwalt's citation said.

"There was no report of hostile fire that day (as would be required),

The only report of hostile fire that day was what Kerry fabricated in
his report he turned in to get his medal. When swift boat #3 hit the
mine, chicken heart Kerry fled the scene, while all other swift boats
stayed to help boat #3. Rassmann, who was on Kerry's boat, fell
overboard. Kerry finally dredged up enough guts to turn back for
Rassmann and got to him only seconds before another swift boat was
coming to the rescue. All this time, they were taking no emeny fire. For
this Kerry frabricates a story that gets him a medal. He should have
been court marshalled for fleeing and all the other swift boat crews
given medals for staying to aid boat #3. Kerry has a yellow streak a
mile wide down his back and this is the best the dummycrats can do for a
Presidential canadiate.

This is coming from the spot report Kerry posted on his web site. The book
merely called them to the attention of the people. All you gotta do is read

In the ensuing time it has reduced the left to screaming, whining,
hissing, name-calling fits, none of which have successfully refuted a
single allegation of the SBVTs. Not one. They've tried legal
intimidation, they've called on Bush, who had nothing to do with the
McCain's ***** step-child, to condemn the ad. They've tried to divert
attention by slamming those who paid for the ad as being partisan.
They've tried to change the subject by attempting to revive the "Bush
was AWOL" nonsense.
But what they haven't done is successfully refute a single allegation of
the Swiftees.

Okay. I have trouble interpreting stuff like the spot report, but it

Recommendation of March 13th, 1969 on the Kerry web site? Let's talk

about

those, okay?

Okay. I have trouble interpreting stuff like the spot report, but it
looks like he lucked out. Navigating your boat into a mine field is
the sort of thing that you'd be just about as likely to get a medal
for, get killed, or get disciplined for doing.

What's the problem?

Where did he say he got wounded?

Sounds like the buttock, but I couldn't tell you which one.

Now, read what he told his CO in order to get the Bronze Star resulting from
the March 13th event (Recommendation for Bronze Star). Where was he wounded?
Then read the spot report for his Purple Heart of 2 December 1968. Where was
he wounded?

Looks like the contusions on the arm were reported, the matter of the
left buttock was dropped, perhaps for reasons of taste?

Doesn't it look like the contusions became a bleeding wound? And you will
excuse me if I laugh at the "taste" comment, I hope.
Now, how about the sport report for the Purple Heart of 2 December 1968?

And I don't look past the official record, which neither says that Bush
was AWOL, nor says that Kerry is anything but a decorated veteran.
Until something is presented to me that carries enough weight to change
the official record (which might require an Act of Congress), I consider
the matter closed, settled, and entirely irrelevant to contemporary
issues.

The official record is being officially challenged:

The Swift Boat Vets for "Truth" have known about his Purple Hearts, Silver
Star and Bronze Star for 35 fucking years. For 35 years they couldn't be
bothered to fill out a form? Give me a break....

They have indicated they will go under oath and testify to their claims.
Kerry was
asked if he would and he refused to answer the question. Hmmmm...

All they need to do is file the form.

It's not hard. Since these guys "served with" Kerry, then surely in
1968/69 when he was awarded these medals they were aware of it. They
should have done something about it then. The fact that none of them have
done it for 35 years says it all.

The fact they are doing it now says a lot more. Why not let it play out?
John Kerry does not seem to be afraid to allow that. He has not spoken out
against them. So, apparently he is willing to let the chips fall where they
may. So, why should you be trying to play defense attorney?
