Koppel can't "admit" to anything of the sort; he can merely accuse.

His accusation is accurate. We went to Iraq for three reasons:
1. Show the world we could quickly conquer a country whenever we felt
like it (a show of strength and bad-assitude after 911)
2. Stabilize oil production and prices
3. Establish a wider military presence in the Mid East by building
military bases in Iraq.

Four reasons if you count WMD, but that was more an excuse to do so than
a compelling reason.
