Latest Economic Figures are Bad News for Kerry and the Democrats |
Employment rebounds in states that could decide next president
By Peronet Despeignes, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON - Employment has picked up significantly this year in a number of
closely contested states that could decide the outcome of the 2004
presidential election.
The latest Labor Department figures on state jobs show that 10 of the 17
states expected to be the most tightly contested this campaign season were
among the fastest-growing job markets in the country in April.
The report, out Friday, showed a marked acceleration in job gains in
industrial states in and around the Midwest defying the expectations of
economists who predicted last year that those states would lag the national
recovery.
Several battleground states outpaced the USA in job growth. The top 10 in
order:
Missouri
Oregon
Wisconsin
West Virginia
Minnesota
Michigan
New Hampshire
Florida
Nevada
Washington
Instead, some states are surpassing the national rebound. Employment
nationwide grew 0.2% in April, but job growth was more than double that in
Wisconsin, West Virginia, Michigan and Missouri. If the U.S. job market had
grown at Missouri's pace, the country would have recorded a job gain of
968,000 in April, instead of 288,000.
Good economic news like this for Americans is BAD news for John Kerry and
the Democrat Party!!

Yeah! Temporarily for election purposes, so don't get your hopes up.
It's what happens after the elections that count.
If some corporations have been guilty of fudging their books.....
why not the hiring rate?????
So all you new employees out there, be a little skeptical and don't sucked in!
According to their labor report, they say that employment is up by 11% over last
year........Up from what? Last years employment rate was way down.
So what/where is the gain?
