Clinton & Co. must take blame for their role in moral decline
On Monday, President Clinton, in his speech at the Democratic
convention,
declared most every favorable event that occurred "on his watch" during
the
past eight years as being due to the Clinton-Gore administration. To be
sure, there are some things for which they should be given credit. But
in
the same sense, many unfavorable events occurred during the past eight
years
for which they should accept equal credit.
On Clinton's watch we became a society that wonders when the next
Oklahoma
bombing will occur. We became a society with kids coming to school with
guns
at the ready to kill any teacher or student who may have caused them to
have
an unhappy feeling. Eight million women walked into abortion clinics to
get
rid of a problem that resulted from a night of fun.
Family values have sunk to a new low, with 9- and 10-year-olds talking
about
oral sex, homosexual sex and preteen or teen-age sex. Clinton has
disgraced
the legal profession with his lies. He has disgraced religion with his
Bible
in his hand, all the while making love to a young woman and ignoring
his
marriage vows; the list goes on and on.
But give credit to Clinton. He's no dummy; Al Gore is. Clinton has
pulled
Gore's strings for the last eight years. Gore praised Clinton during
the
scandal, impeachment and every other problem that befell Clinton
"during his
watch."
Well, my watch says it's time to kick them both out of politics.
