Lowest Approval Rating Since Records Kept |
Yep, that's right the wanna-be Imperial Princess Pelosi's democrat congress
has the lowest rating since ratings on congress kept. Then again the
previous lowest rated congress was in 1992- ANOTHER democrat controlled
congress. That was during the check bouncing scandal and senators like
Barbara Boxer were bouncing checks all over DC!
http://www.galluppoll.com/content/?ci=28456
PRINCETON, NJ -- A new Gallup Poll finds Congress' approval rating the
lowest it has been since Gallup first tracked public opinion of Congress
with this measure in 1974. Just 18% of Americans approve of the job Congress
is doing, while 76% disapprove, according to the August 13-16, 2007, Gallup
Poll.
That 18% job approval rating matches the low recorded in March 1992, when a
check-bouncing scandal was one of several scandals besetting Congress,
leading many states to pass term limits measures for U.S. representatives
(which the Supreme Court later declared unconstitutional). Congress had a
similarly low 19% approval rating during the energy crisis in the summer of
1979.

You keep trying to blame Speaker Pelosi when the blame properly belongs on
Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell and his fellow Republic
obstructionists.
Congress has to make ending George Bush's war in Iraq a top priority,
forcing the Republics to vote again and again against the interests of this
country in backing Bush's war. Here's the real story in YOUR cite:
Americans elected the Democrats as the majority party in Congress in
November 2006's midterm election in large part due to frustration with the
Iraq war and an ineffective and scandal-plagued Republican-led Congress. But
any hopes that the elections would lead to change have not been realized as
Democrats' repeated attempts to force a change in Iraq war policy have been
largely unsuccessful due to presidential vetoes, disagreements within their
own party, and the inability to attract Republican support for their policy
proposals. Also, many of the Democratic leadership's domestic agenda items
have not become law even though some have passed one or both houses of
Congress.
Meanwhile Americans still favor Democrats to gain further control over
Congress so we can overcome this obstructionism and get the country headed
back in the right direction:
Generic Congressional Vote
Poll Date Republican Democrat Spread
RCP Average 06/22 - 07/18 39.3% 49.0% 9.7%
Battleground 07/15 - 07/18 40% 48% 8%

CNN 06/22 - 06/24 41% 53% 12%

delusional namecalling.

PRINCETON, NJ -- A new Gallup Poll finds Congress' approval
rating
the
lowest it has been since Gallup first tracked public opinion
of
Congress
with this measure in 1974. Just 18% of Americans approve of
the
job
Congress
is doing, while 76% disapprove, according to the August
13-16,
2007,
Gallup
Poll.
That 18% job approval rating matches the low recorded in
March
1992,
when
a
check-bouncing scandal was one of several scandals besetting
Congress,
leading many states to pass term limits measures for U.S.
representatives
(which the Supreme Court later declared unconstitutional).
Congress
had
a
similarly low 19% approval rating during the energy crisis in
the
summer
of
1979.
You keep trying to blame Speaker Pelosi when the blame
properly
belongs
on
Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell and his fellow Republic
obstructionists.
So your logic is when Republicans are the majority party in
congress,
you
leftist morns blame them and now when the democrats are the
majority
party
in congress, you leftist morons blame republicans again.
So do tell kimmey, when are democrats ever accountable for the
bismol
job
the American people know they do?
They are accountable: for not standing up to Bush enough. That
will
change
when the current recess is over, or the Democrats will pay the
price
for
it.
Congress has to make ending George Bush's war in Iraq a top
priority,
forcing the Republics to vote again and again against the
interests
of
this
country in backing Bush's war. Here's the real story in YOUR
cite:
Americans elected the Democrats as the majority party in
Congress
in
November 2006's midterm election in large part due to
frustration
with
the
Iraq war and an ineffective and scandal-plagued Republican-led
Congress.
But
any hopes that the elections would lead to change have not
been
realized
as
Democrats' repeated attempts to force a change in Iraq war
policy
have
been
largely unsuccessful due to presidential vetoes, disagreements
within
their
own party, and the inability to attract Republican support for
their
policy
proposals. Also, many of the Democratic leadership's domestic
agenda
items
have not become law even though some have passed one or both
houses
of
Congress.
Meanwhile Americans still favor Democrats to gain further
control
over
Congress so we can overcome this obstructionism and get the
country
headed
back in the right direction:
Generic Congressional Vote
Poll Date Republican Democrat Spread
RCP Average 06/22 - 07/18 39.3% 49.0% 9.7%

Midterm Election: Referendum on War
In What Comes Down to a Referendum on Iraq, the Center Peels Away
ANALYSIS by GARY LANGER
Oct. 23, 2006 —
It's two weeks away, and the 2006 midterm elections look like a referendum
on Iraq, a war in which President Bush and his party have lost not just the
political center but significant chunks of their base.
An improving economy notwithstanding, opposition to the war remains the
prime issue driving congressional voter preference. And the war's critics
include not just eight in 10 Democrats but 64 percent of independents, 40
percent of conservatives, 35 percent of evangelical white Protestants and a
quarter of Republicans.
