Lynndie England - JUDGE TOSSES HER GUILTY PLEA |

FORT HOOD, Texas The commander at Fort Hood in Texas has some
decisions to make in the Lynndie England case.
Yesterday, a military judge tossed out the Army private's guilty plea
to charges of abusing Iraqi prisoners.
The trial was abruptly ended during testimony by reputed abuse
ringleader Charles Graner, who the judge said contradicted England's
previous testimony.
England had pleaded guilty, but the judge said Graner's account casts
doubts on whether the woman knew what she was doing. Under military
law, a guilty plea could only be accepted if the judge was convinced
England knew that what she was doing was illegal.
Fort Hood's commander Lieutenant General Thomas Metz now has to decide
what charges, if any, England should face.

The intelligence operatives at Abu Ghraib know how to cover their tracks.
Get someone of less than average intelligence to perform while they're
taking pictures and putting together a defence. It is my opinion that
they've taken the most vulnerable person they could find to turn into a
scapegoat for everyone from Bush down.

That is so ridiculous. The photos convict her. Her own plea convicts
her. How could she not know what she was doing? The suffering she was
causing is blatantly obvious from the photos.

Yeah - she knew what she was doing, but the judge says she didn't know
it was illegal. I can understand that. The judge is implying that she
was told to do this, which i think everyone knows is true. I think the
judge is after the higher-ups.

the two who are going down hardest for this is a private? Last I heard
a private can barely take a dump without orders...
