Making Predictions Predictions are not indicators of coming reality
anyway......I am guilty of way too many predictions myself......
Even when predictions are right they are wrong because they either focus on
too narrow a phenomenon or too broad a phenomenon.
Its far better to focus on broad geo-political outlooks that analyze the
five major players in the world (Japan, China, US, Europe/UK, and
Russia)perhaps six(India) Everything else is noise....terrorism, in my
opinion, is noise. Its simply a weapon wielded by nations.
That's why to focus a "war" upon terrorism is counter-productive.....as
noble and righteous as that war may be....it takes our eyes off of the real
geopolitical/military moves going on in the world.....even when we are
"winning" such a "war" we are losing the conflict with our nation-state
enemies because our time, resources, and attention are being drained.....
One might say, "9/11 forced us into such a war"........of course.....that is
my point.....what better way to bring down a nation than to force it to wage
a war which even if it wins it will lose???......That is why 9/11 was such a
DRAMATIC and huge defeat for the United States.....people say "We are a
stronger nation because of 9/11".......hogwash, bullsh*t......we are a MUCH
weaker nation......it forced us into a "war" of attrition against an
amorphous enemy where that enemy can use 1,000 times less resources and tie
down hundreds of thousands of our best troops while our nation-state enemies
lie unmolested and less scrutinized planning their next moves to outflank us
on a global scale......
So.....whether we are "rounding up the terrorists one by one", Pakistan
"comes clean"(but not really), or some little 5th rate sand pit like Libya
comes to us hat-in-hand makes little difference in terms of global strategic
positions of the major nations....we ought not to puff ourselves up over it
and only increase our already bloated hubris.....
We ought to keep our focus on the major world players.....
