We all know Muhammad has been anti-Western before, and has counseled
other Muslim nations about quitting making excuses for their own
failures, which makes him look better than he has looked in the past
(capital controls, and unlicensed possession of firearms or ammunition
is a capital offense -- no wonder he's so strongly in charge of
Malaysia; what a model for the Arabs, even more than the Latin
American Franco-fellows!), but then he has to make a complete ***** of
himself and imitate Hitler and the fellow Euro-anti-Semites with his
stupid "Jews Rule the World by Proxy, Have Others Fight and Die For
Them" nonsense -- how convenient to omit Israel's history of having to
fight for its very existence.

Malaysian Explains Anti-Jewish Remarks

Putrajaya, Malaysia -- Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad
refused to apologize Friday for a speech in which he said Jews ruled
the world, accusing the West of a double standard in criticizing
Muslims and Jews.
Defending himself against international condemnation, Mahathir gave a
news conference a day after addressing the 57-nation Organization of
the Islamic Conference, the world's largest Muslim group.
In the speech, he said that "Jews rule the world by proxy. They get
others to fight and die for them."
The statement drew immediate criticism from Israel, the United States
and other countries, and raised fears that it could fan violence
against Jews. But it got a standing ovation from the kings,
presidents, sheiks and emirs -- including key U.S. allies -- gathered
in Malaysia's capital, Putrajaya.
On Friday, Mahathir said Westerners such as the Rev. Jerry Falwell
receive little fallout for labeling the Prophet Muhammed a
"terrorist," while statements about Israel's actions against
Palestinians draw immediate charges of anti-Semitism.
Falwell, a conservative Baptist minister, outraged Muslims by saying
in an interview last year with CBS'"60 Minutes" that he had concluded
Muhammad "was a terrorist."
"Are we not allowed at all to criticize the Jews if they do things
which are wrong?" Mahathir asked. "If Muslims can be accused of being
terrorists, then others can accuse the Jews of being terrorists also."
Mahathir, 77, a senior statesmen in the developing world who will
retire Oct. 31 after 22 years in office, has long been an outspoken
leader. He is a staunch advocate of the Palestinians and strongly
opposed the war in Iraq, but also has jailed terror suspects from the
al-Qaida-linked Jemaah Islamiyah group.
In his news conference, Mahathir accused "most" European leaders -- by
which he also generally means Americans and Australians -- of being
biased.
"The fact is that they are biased," Mahathir said. "Most of them are
biased. Not all; most of them. And they feel that while it is proper
to criticize Muslims and Arabs, it is not proper to criticize
Europeans and Jews. Apparently, they think they are privileged
people."
Mahathir said the thrust of his speech had been to urge Muslims to
step back from violence, rethink their strategies, and find a peaceful
way through acquiring knowledge to gain strength and unity so they
would gain respect and their rights.
"What I said in my speech is that we should stop all this violence,
all these killings, all these suicide bombings, all this massive
retaliation," Mahathir said. "I am against violence, I am against
terrorism."
He also said that remarks earlier Friday by his foreign minister, Syed
Hamid Albar that expressed regret over misunderstandings if any
offense occurred did not amount to an apology.
Syed Hamid had told The Associated Press: "I'm sorry that they have
misunderstood the whole thing. The intention is not to create
controversy. His intention is to show that if you ponder and sit down
to think, you can be very powerful."
In his speech, Mahathir had said Muslims had achieved "nothing" in
more than 50 years of fighting Israel.
"They survived 2,000 years of pogroms not by hitting back but by
thinking," Mahathir said of the Jews. "They invented socialism,
communism, human rights and democracy so that persecuting them would
appear to be wrong, so that they can enjoy equal rights with others."
Mahathir said the world's 1.3 billion Muslims "cannot be defeated by a
few million Jews."
In Washington, State Department spokesman Adam Ereli called Mahatir's
remarks offensive and inflammatory.
Israel's Foreign Ministry said it was "a desecration of the memory of
6 million victims of anti-Semitism."
Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in
Los Angeles, said Mahathir's speech "is an absolute invitation for
more hate crimes and terrorism against Jews. That's serious."
In their reactions to the speech, most of the leaders at the summit
focused on the aspects that Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher
called "a good road map" toward Muslim empowerment.
Asked by the AP whether he thought the speech was anti-Semitic, Afghan
President Hamid Karzai said: "I don't think so."
In other action at the Islamic summit, the leaders Friday:
* Urged a faster transition to full sovereignty for Iraq, but toned
down an earlier plan calling for a greater role for the United
Nations.
* Strongly condemned threats by the Israeli government against
Palestinian President Yasser Arafat. The nations also asked the
international community to force Israel to remove a security barrier
that winds into Palestinian land and to ensure the withdrawal of
Israeli occupation forces from Palestinian and Arab territories.
* Condemned the recent Israeli attack inside Syria as a violation of
international law and the U.N. charter, and urged U.S. Security
Council to prevent a recurrence.

Malaysia: Prime Minister's anti-Semitic speech was a
"misunderstanding"

The government of Malaysia apologized for remarks made on Thursday by
Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad at the opening of the Organization of
the Islamic Conference summit, which he was hosting. Mohamad told
international Islamic leaders that "Jews rule the world by proxy. They
get others to fight and die for them." Jewish leaders said the speech
was "an absolute invitation for more hate crimes and terrorism against
Jews."
"I'm sorry that they have misunderstood the whole thing," Malaysian
Foreign Minister Syed Hamid told the Associated Press on Friday. "The
intention is not to create controversy. His intention is to show that
if you ponder and sit down to think, you can be very powerful."
Hamid added, "The ones who are facing all the problems at present are
the Muslims. There are no feelings against any Jews. Why should we
have feelings based on ethnicity?"
Mahathir, 77, who is known for his outspoken, anti-Western rhetoric,
is leader of a democratic nation which has a large non-Muslim
population and does not enforce strict Islamic law. Mahathir told the
Islamic Conference that Muslims had achieved "nothing" in more than 50
years of fighting Israel.
"The 1.3 billion Muslims cannot be defeated by a few million Jews,"
Mahathir said. "There must be a way. And we can only find a way if we
stop to think, to assess our weaknesses and our strengths, to plan, to
strategize and then to counter-attack...
"We are actually very strong - 1.3 billion people cannot be simply
wiped out. The Europeans killed six million Jews out of 12 million.
But today, the Jews rule this world by proxy. They get others to fight
and die for them...
"Over the past 50 years of fighting in Palestine, we have not achieved
any result. We have in fact worsened our situation," Mahathir said.

thinking. They invented and successfully promoted Socialism,
Communism, human rights and democracy so that persecuting them would
appear to be wrong, so they may enjoy equal rights with others. With
these, they have now gained control of the most powerful countries and

Mahathir's speech drew a standing ovation from the assembled leaders,
who included Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Abdullah, Syrian President
Bashar al-Assad, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Pakistan President
Pervez Musharraf and Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri.
Invitation to more hate crimes
Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Jonathan Peled expressed
disappointment in the Malaysian prime minister's remarks but said he
wasn't surprised. "It is not new that in such forums there is always
an attempt to reach of the lowest common denominator which is Israel
bashing. But obviously we'd like to see more moderate and responsible
kind of declarations coming out of such summits."
Abraham H. Foxman, National Director of the Anti-Defamation League,
said in response, "Prime Minister Mahathir has made what amounts to a
call for global war against the Jewish people by 1.3 billion Muslims.
This is nothing more than a call to Holy War against Jews. It is
grotesque anti-Semitism on an international scale. Mahathir's speech
needs to be condemned by responsible leaders of the civilized world as
an unacceptable outrage and an affront to civilized society."
Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in
Los Angeles, said Mahathir has used anti-Israel statements in the past
to prove he's tough on the West. But, he said, Thursday's speech was
still worrisome.
"What is profoundly shocking and worrying is the venue of the speech,
the audience and coming in the time we're living in," Cooper said.
"Mahathir's speech today is an absolute invitation for more hate
crimes and terrorism against Jews. That's serious."
"It's not the first time we've seen comments like this from that
official," U.S. Deputy State Department spokesman Adam Ereli said.
"Let's be clear: the remarks were offensive, they are inflammatory,
and we view them with the contempt and derision they deserve."
The German Foreign Ministry denounced Mahathir's comments as "totally
unacceptable" and said it called in Malaysia's charge d'affaires in
Berlin to protest. "It was made clear to (him) that repeating such
prejudices and combining them with the tragic chapter of European and
German history, the Holocaust, is irresponsible," the ministry said in
a statement.
Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said that Mahathir "used
expressions that were gravely offensive, very strongly anti-Semitic
and ... strongly counter to principles of tolerance, dialogue and
understanding between the Western world and the Islamic world."

Interestingly if it were not for the small number of persons from

I am not saying otherwise, the Palestinians could be also. The people
are not inferior the societies and governments are.
Given the freedoms and knowledge we have they are equal.
But if there was never a USA what would those nations look like today?
I was making a different point. I guess I disagree that they need to
come to the US to create. India has many creative people working in
it, despite many flaws in the system. It is a functioning democracy.
The Indian Diaspora in Asia has long been productive (also in Africa).
Idi Amin tossed them out because they looked too much to him the way
Jews looked to Euros.
I don't think that the US sits atop the pyramid in all ways. I think
different cultures have nice things to contribute, like Australia,
another example. I don't think Americans are the best at everything,
though there is much to learn from.
Not all good things being done in the world are being done in America,
it would be a very boring world if that were true. There's a lot not
to like here, but I look around and it's hard to see someplace I'd
rather live. (A few places qualify as possible second homes.) But
we're at the top of the heap, and here's one American hoping we stay
there for a long time. If we hadn't been there for most of the
twentieth century, the world would be a much different place, and in
my opinion, a lot worse off in most ways. Looking ahead, I don't see
any alternative to American dominance. Imagine what the war with Islam
terror would be like if the Europeans were calling the shots. Long
live Amrican hegemony! I would hope the system evolves to include the
new powers like India, Eastern Europe, and less of old Europe. Plus

on behalf of the EU (I assume that includes France, but I don;t know).

Large scale on Israel is only a matter of time
This story is just another glimpse into the minds of these people.
They are obsessed with the destruction of Israel.
It is only a matter before they all use their "intellect" to devise a
seemingly perfect plan for a large scale attack against Israel. Dozens
of Arab and/or Muslim nations, including Russia, will join together on
this one. It's not a matter of "if", but "when".
This is not pessimism or fear mongering -- just an observation of

I have been critical of Bush and Sharon but I will must admit this;
Since I am not in on all the intelligence that they have, and since I
am not privy to top secret planning, I try to be careful.
What if there is a plan? During the time this crisis has dragged on
Israel has developed and greatly enhanced it's defenses and
capabilities. What if Israel has been playing to a stalemate and
suffering losses intentionally to avoid an
all out conflict until all things are in place.
Look what they have done in the last few years. Spy satellites,
greatly increased nuclear capabilities; land sea & air, enhanced anti
missile capabilities etc. This makes Israel a formidable foe and is
also a serious deterrent. The time frame, intentional or not may work
to Israel's favor in the long run.
The cost in civilian victims may in the end may even be less.
If too many people, right & left, become impatient we and destroy our
leaders we may never know what they were doing. We judge by the
information we have, sometimes it is enough and sometimes it is not.
For now I must remain critical from what I know, but I tread carefully
not wishing to inadvertently put in place something worse.
Time will prove all things, unfortunately when it does often it is too
late.

was born with is Sabri al-Banna. He was born in 1937 in the
Palestinian

distinguished families in Palestine and owned, among other things,
more
than 6,000 acres of orange orchards, which were the major source of
income for the family. When Sabri al-Banna was an 11-year-old
schoolboy,
the Jews seized all of his family's orchards and other lands, all of
their houses, and everything else his family owned, and he and his
family ended up living in a tent in a refugee camp in the Gaza strip.
Quite a shock for a quiet, introverted little boy.
The shock led him to dedicate his life to evening the score, to
gaining
justice for his people, to striking back at the Jews who had stolen
all
of his family's property and driven them into a refugee camp. He built
what was probably the most highly disciplined and ruthless fighting
organization on the Palestinian side. He struck not only at Jews but
also at Palestinians who collaborated or compromised with the Jews.
Whenever Abu Nidal's troops would strike, machine-gunning Israeli
tourists at an airport or bombing some Jewish facility in another
country, the politicians and the media here always would go into
hysterics about Arab "terrorism." I always cheered. Abu Nidal is not
some crazed murderer who likes to kill people. He is a Palestinian
patriot fighting for his people and for his country in the only way he
can fight under the circumstances. He does not "hate America's
freedom"
as George Bush and the media would have you believe. There is no
reason
for him to be an enemy of America, except that we have made him an
enemy
by arming and financing the Jews who stole his family's orange groves
and forced him into a refugee camp. Remember that whenever you buy an
orange that came into America from Israel: one of those sweet Jaffa
oranges that are so favored by New York Jews. That orange is stolen
property. It belongs to Abu Nidal. It was stolen from him by the Jew
who
sold it to you."
