Mother thought son was OK alone with CPS worker

NOBLESVILLE -- The mother of a 16-year-old boy that prosecutors and
police say was molested by a former Child Protective Services
caseworker, testified in court today that she had no problem with the
worker spending time alone with her son.
The 35-year-old woman reported that she met Cory Heinzman, 38, of
Arcadia, when the caseworker came to her house in August 2003. She said
the assistant principal at her son's school had filed a child abuse
report, and Child Protective Services assigned Heinzman to investigate.
The woman said her then-13-year-old son went into a residential
treatment center in April 2004. After the boy's release in August 2004,
he and Heinzman started spending nearly every Friday night together.
Their relationship eventually evolved into the boy spending the night at
Heinzman's house.
"I thought it would be OK," the woman told the 12-person jury in
Hamilton County Superior Court 2.
In April 2005, the time that the boy and Heinzman were together began
tapering off, the woman said.
Then on May 2, 2005, during an argument between the boy and his mother,
the boy made a statement accusing Heinzman of molesting him.
One of Heinzman's two attorneys, Rodney Sarkovics, asked the woman if
her son ever said anything negative about Heinzman.
"Nothing that (her son) said ever caused me any concern," the woman
answered.
It is the policy of the Noblesville Ledger to generally not publish the
names of sexual-assault victims.
Dr. Phillip Merk, a professor of clinical pediatrics and clinical
medicine who practices at the Pediatric Center of Hope in Indianapolis,
testified that his examination of the boy in May 2005 found no signs of
trauma from molestation. Merk explained, though, that any signs of
molestation are likely to be nonexistent 96 hours after an occurrence.
Heinzman has been charged with 15 felonies, including child molestation
and sexual misconduct with a minor, as well as 14 misdemeanors, all for
official misconduct.
The other alleged victim in the case was expected to take the stand late
this afternoon, the second day of testimony in the trial.
CURRENTLY CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES VIOLATES MORE CIVIL RIGHTS ON A
DAILY BASIS THEN ALL OTHER AGENCIES COMBINED INCLUDING THE NATIONAL
SECURITY AGENCY/CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY WIRETAPPING PROGRAM....
CPS Does not protect children...
It is sickening how many children are subject to abuse, neglect and even
killed at the hands of Child Protective Services.

Number of Cases per 100,000 children in the US
These numbers come from The National Center on
Child Abuse and Neglect in Washington. (NCCAN)
Recent numbers have increased significantly for CPS
*Perpetrators of Maltreatment*
Physical Abuse CPS 160, Parents 59
Sexual Abuse CPS 112, Parents 13
Neglect CPS 410, Parents 241
Medical Neglect CPS 14 Parents 12
Fatalities CPS 6.4, Parents 1.5
Imagine that, 6.4 children die at the hands of the very agencies that
are supposed to protect them and only 1.5 at the hands of parents per
100,000 children. CPS perpetrates more abuse, neglect, and sexual abuse
and kills more children then parents in the United States. If the
citizens of this country hold CPS to the same standards that they hold
parents too. No judge should ever put another child in the hands of ANY
government agency because CPS nationwide is guilty of more harm and
death than any human being combined. CPS nationwide is guilty of more
human rights violations and deaths of children then the homes from which
they were removed. When are the judges going to wake up and see that
they are sending children to their death and a life of abuse when
children are removed from safe homes based on the mere opinion of a
bunch of social workers.
BE SURE TO FIND OUT WHERE YOUR CANDIDATES STANDS ON THE ISSUE OF
REFORMING OR ABOLISHING CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES ("MAKE YOUR CANDIDATES
TAKE A STAND ON THIS ISSUE.") THEN REMEMBER TO VOTE ACCORDINGLY IF THEY
ARE "FAMILY UNFRIENDLY" IN THE NEXT ELECTION...

I must apologize for the thoughtless and ignorant remarks I made to you on
this issue the other day....I really was not myself that day. Good luck
with your cause and with your continuing efforts to improve the lives of our
most vulnerable citizens.
Have yourself a nice and absolutely super day! :-)
