The Associated Press-Ipsos poll on public attitudes about President
Bush and Congress, conducted Jan. 3-5, is based on telephone
interviews with 1,001 adults from all states except Alaska and Hawaii.
No more than one time in 20 should chance variations in the sample
cause the results to vary by more than plus or minus 3 percentage
points from the answers that would be obtained if all Americans were
polled.

heading in the right direction, or are they off on the wrong track?

2. Overall, do you approve, disapprove or have mixed feelings about
the way George W. Bush is handling his job as president?

Actually, that was one of the great ironies of 2004. It would be
conservative favorite FoxNews that broke from the pack and gave Kerry a
2% lead going into the election. The others had Bush in the lead.
Only one other (ARG) gave Kerry a 1% lead in the head to head poll.
The typical liberal favorites favored Bush, as CNN had Bush ahead by 2%
and CBS had him ahead by 3%.
They are listed out on the following page, if you scroll down to the
section "2004 Presidential Race: Head to Head".
