Bush is protecting us from the Democrats passing laws like this. The
Democrats are to blame for all our problems while Bush is there to save our
rights. That's why we have the Patriot Act, it protects our freedom.

I cannot believe that anyone would be trying this again. It
failed already, why go backwards?

The very definition of stereotypical behavior is when people
think that something will work on the 1000th time they try it,
when it didn't work the first 999 times.
The liberals are mindless zombies when it comes to gun control
and banning. It's all emotional, reason doesn't matter a bit.
It's about power and control over the lives of others, disarming
and enslaving them.

What's really dumb about this "Assault Weapons Ban" is that
this is trying to outlaw all SKS rifles, AR rifles, AR clones,
and HI-POINT Carbines. I own two HI-POINT Carbines and the
rifle isn't any good past 100 yards. I own a 9mm and 45 ACP
version. They are a blast to shoot but are not the most
accurate. I bought them as a backup to a couple of
Autoloaders I own in the same caliber. The HI-POINTs have a
10 round magazine. Remember the AWB banned any high capacity
magazine defined as more than 10 rounds, but the manufacturers
made so many that for the ten years you could still buy them
just about anywhere? That's one of the reasons the AWB was
useless. The other reason was no one ever took it seriously.

You're missing the point. It's not about what guns or public
safety, or "the children" or "protecting the police officers",
it's not about any of that. These people plan to rule and
enslave and you can't do that so well with armed people.

I also own an SKS that has a detachable magazine (30 rounds,
50 rounds, 100 round drum). It is good to about 250 yards.
But the question on it is, what difference between detachable
and the "undetachable magazine" with stripper clips? None
really, it takes about two seconds max to reload the box
magazine with ten rounds.

Fortunately I will already have all the supplies needed to
defeat this. But what about the generation that is now
growing up? After the liberal anti-gun crowd getsb it's way,
will they will be stuck with single shot rifles?

Or none. In Unfree Kingdom they just kept banning until it was
all gone.
They know that if they ask for the stars, the NRA will at least
agree to give them the solar system.

Of course if they are, then I suggest another rifle I own, a
Sharps Plains Rifle. Single shot, 1000 yards range with the
45-100 cartridge. If the anti-gun crowd wanted to be afraid
of a "sniper" rifle, that's the one to fear. It would be my
choice if I ever went out to take anything down. I believe in
shooting from as far off as I can, and the Sharps will do it.

Where do you find them? Is it a modern rifle? I don't see them
on the auction sites. Sounds expensive to shoot.
But then again, it misses the whole point.

If the liberals want to be afraid of something, they should
start being afraid of the American Gun Owner.

They always have been.

They will never gain back the prior power
as long as they keep this up.

They have the power now, or they wouldn't keep pushing these
bans. They need to be tossed the hell out of office for it.

As usual, the politicians cannot stand freedom. There are
enough of all the "Assault Rifles" out there to supply the US
Military several millions over. What will this stop? Honest
citizens only......unless they buy them now! And don't forget
the dies and other loading equipment needed to keep feeding
them! That includes the bullet molds.

Still not the point.

My motto is: "Everytime a politician hollers gun control, I go
out and buy another gun to control." (usually the very one
they are trying to eliminate)

That's not the answer either. It's a band aid over a cancer. If
you don't get rid of them politically, that will only give them
more to confiscate eventually.

This time it looks like they have given me a pretty good list
to choose from. I think I'll buy three more rifles now, one
for me, and one for each of my sons. That way three "Assault
Rifles" will be positively controlled.....and I also think
three more handguns would be in order. That way a backup for
the rifles will be available.

It may alleviate your frustration but only getting rid of them
and repealing all gun laws will solve it.
