Object: New Jersey Imposes Moratorium on Death Penalty
It's about justice, not vengeance

The death penalty remains one of the most barbaric methods
of punishment in civilized society. Across the globe,
civilized nations have abolished its application.
In the United States, capital punishment remains both a thorny
political and moral issue. New Jersey has not executed anyone
since 1963. The death penalty was reinstated in 1982 and there
are 10 inmates currently on death row. If the state Assembly
votes Monday as expected, those 10 will not face execution for
at least a year.
The Assembly Judiciary Committee voted on Thursday to support
a moratorium on the death penalty, pending more study of its
fairness and cost. A companion bill already passed in the state Senate.
It is easy to get caught up in the emotions of capital cases.
Hijackers responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks would not receive
much sympathy from a jury. The criminal justice system is not about
sympathy; by definition, it is about justice.

If someone murdered my wife or son, there would be no justice until the
murderer was dead.

Yeah, Jesus said "Kill them all and let God sort them out.".
Haven't you got the point yet? Its immoral to kill anyone whether he's a
killer or the victim.
