There's nearly 3 million out of work.

Just stating the facts. This president has presided over
more net job losses than any president since Hoover.

Why do you purposely skew your 'analysis' to raw numbers like that? The
percentage of unemployed is the proper gauge for a reason.

Play games and make negative comments in denial all you want. The fact is
the unemployment rate is most likely going to be closer to 5% than to 6%
come election time. That's not going to be much of a detriment to Bush in
November 2004.
Why do you hinge your political hopes on things going bad for the country?

Admitting it is not the issue, that you've applied an unwarranted sense of
alarm is. As business goes in cycles, so does employment. Further, the
picture is destined to improve with the continuously improving economy.
Care to admit that?

outlooks.

I see you left off the season adjustments. That I think you will find is the
really big reason for the big decline. The United States just does not have a
manufacturing base and for years the department of labor has known that fact
but they refuse to adjust the seasonal adjustment figures to reflect reality.

Just stating the facts. This president has presided over

Interesting what you call a fact.

1954: 1.7 million added to the unemployment rolls (1.04% of the
population)
1958: 1.7 million added to the unemployment rolls (.97% of the
population)
1970-1971: 2.2 million added to the unemployment rolls (1.05% of the

1974-1975: 3.6 million added to the unemployment rolls (1.67% of the

1991-1992: 2.6 million added to the unemployment rolls (1.02% of the

The problem is that you are comparing the NUMBER of unemployed over
different decades. That means next to nothing. The 3 million out of
work represents about 0.7% of the population which is a smaller
percentage than the 6 decades shown here.

Well you also need to consider that you need 106,000 new jobs per month to just

Why do I need to consider that? It is largely immaterial. Most
illegals take jobs that most of wouldn't want in the first place. And
it takes little additional effort to expand your skills beyond those
of most immigrants who, through no fault of their own, usually have
rudimentary education.

Just another bush lie.

No new claims are being filed because they've already fired everybody
who's elegible for unemployment. Anybody with a job now is either an
undocumented illegal or an under-the-counter cash hire who doesn't
