New Orleans Still a Mess; Bush Still in the White House; WTH? |

I don't know how often Google updates its satellite maps, but if it is
somewhat current, then I am seeing nothing but blocks and blocks of
devastation that is two years old in New Orleans. What is going on down
there?

This is the trouble of having free access to information like satellite
feeds. Before, if FoxNews told me everything in New Orleans was A-OK, I
would either have to take their word for it or drive down there myself.
But this picture above, even to an untrained eye, is a damning proof at
the criminal negligence of the Bush regime.
BTW, FoxNews said everything is going all right in New Orleans.

Very little. The city's population is still only about half its pre-
Katrina level. The Ninth Ward is largely a "no man's land". Federal
relief money is still largely tied up in red tape. Two years after the
Army Corp of Engineer's Incompetence and Corruption Flood, I understand
only about six checks for rebuilding houses are going out.
Mississippi, with a Republican governor, is getting more money. They
recently obtained 75% of the money granted by FEMA for permanent housing
solutions. The grant was "discretionary" you see.
Louisiana failed to elect a GOP governor so they must be punished...
