New Poll Shows Louisiana's Blanco And Nagin Most To Blame For KatrinaScewup |
In a Weekly Standard poll only 11% of respondents blame Bush and even
fewer blamed FEMA's Michael Brown (4%).
However, 32% blamed N.O. Mayor Ray Nagin and 25% blamed Democrat
governor Blanco, up sharply from earlier polls.
Nature got 25% of the blame and looters 2%.
This poll is much fairer and accurate than earlier polls but let's face,
Governor Blanco is about 95% to blame for the screwup with Nagin 5%.
No one could do anything to prevent the hurricane but the human screwup
was in the failure to evacuate New Orleans in time and effectively--at
least 4 days before Katrina came ashore. The federal government and FEMA
under Brown were not, and should not, be designated first responders.
They were in no way responsible for the evacuation failure.
The plan by Louisiana Governor Blanco and Mayor Nagin to have evacuees,
whom they failed to provide public transportation for to leave the city,
should not have sent refugees to the Superdome or Convention center
without security and provisions.
Bush and FEMA, who who were not first responders could not do anything
to prevent this bad mistake. Blanco had the full authority. And she
blocked all out of state authorities and forces from acting.
Thus Bush and Fema should get none of the blame. They are not
responsible for one dead body or one damaged building or house in New
Orleans Louisiana.

Before you start talking about polls you really ought to learn something
about random sampling and avoiding bias.
You are referring to a question posed on the home page of a looney tunes
website. To wit:
"The Blame Game"
"In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, politicians and the press are
pointing fingers. Who deserves the blame for this disaster? (Gov. Blanco
now an option due to popular demand.)" http://www.weeklystandard.com/
But I imagine it will pass for "fair and accurate" with the lobotomized
crowd. Pathetic.

Well sure and it will only grow. As those displaced by Katrina have an
opportunity to watch the news opinion will change. You see the past polls
were taken from folks who could watch the news and so the displaced of
Louisiana who were polled were done so lacking information. That will
change. The lying on the left will be exposed and their media supporters
along with them. It will be good for your midterms.

Because the weekly standard is not even close to the NY times in being
partisan, you're comparing apples to grapes. The weekly standard isn't even
a newspaper, but an opinion blog for gullible stooges who have no ability to
think for themselves.
The Weekly Standard is an American conservative political magazine published
48 times per year. It made its debut on September 17, 1995 and is owned by
Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation. It is viewed as a leading outlet of the
influential neo-conservative movement. Its current editors are William
Kristol, chairman of the Project for the New American Century, and Fred
Barnes.

Built into his language is the notion that an online pole can actaully

rule of law with a lynch mob if it suited his immediate political
purpose.
Fortunately for America Lambourn is sfely tucked away in his Canadian

REAL danger to the American constitution.

The lack of character demonstrated by this kind of lying and spin will
do its champions much more political harm than the original bumbling.
Keep it up, John Ross.
